Do Long-Distance Relationships Ever Work Out?

Long-distance relationships are becoming more common these days. There’s even a name for it, LDR couples, as well as websites dedicated to those in a long-distance relationship.

Lovingfromadistance.com is one such site. It offers advice, activities for LDR couples to do, merchandise and even free printable stationery.

Back in the days of the Pony Express, I would be a lot less inclined to say that long-distance relationships are possible. But today, with airfare deals, texting, video chat and email, I believe LDRs can be successful!

Ladies, like any relationship, a cross-continental love connection needs to be nurtured and trust needs to be established. Sit down with your man before beginning an LDR and set some ground rules. Tell each other what the expectations are and how to make it easier for each other.

Remember, there are dozens of ways to communicate and there are even online support communities. So if you are in love with this man, give it a try, even if that means from 2,000 miles away.

Here’s a quote from Loving From a Distance that I thought was beautiful and practical: “Missing someone gets easier every day because even though you are one day further from the last time you saw them, you are one day closer to the next time you will.”
