    Blank Mind

I am a 40-year old male. I have but one relationship to my resume, which ended 4 years ago. I have recently moved to a different country (UK), took a post-grad course, and got a new job.

I have experienced many rejections. Normal, friendly, disdainful, and even with fake interest in the beginning.

Anyway, I know I have a lot to learn, and I want to start by learning how to flirt. And only then move on to body language and all that

Since I don’t have a car, and I live close to the suburbs, it’s hard to go out. And anyway, I think trying again with strangers in a bar or club would not be helpful. I am too clumsy, and there’s too much “competition”.

So, the only place I can practice right now is at work. Problem is, whenever I am close to someone I might want to flirt with, my mind goes empty. No coherent words or sentences form. And I am afraid that if I just spout the 1st thing that comes to mind, I will look like a weirdo.

How do I combat this? Thanks.

I have no idea how to help you, and am in fact only posting here because I need to make two posts so I can talk about my own failures, which make you look like Brad Pitt. Good luck, anyhow.

On a side topic, how did you get into the UK? I thought they only allowed immigrants from the EU, or if you have a large amount of money. I would love to get out of the US, but I feel trapped here, since nobody wants us unless we’re wealthy. Just wondering.

Try online dating to get to know a few women in the area, communicate more with colleagues to the point where going out for happy hour or lunch would be appropriate and you just may meet new people and or their friends who have similar interests as you. Just try to expand your horizon. I don’t think there is a specific way to flirt, just be yourself and smile, smiling is always a charming attribute. 🙂
