In the real world, when you see a person you want to get to know, you typically start off by saying hi, my name’s —. So what’s up with people trying to start a conversation without giving their name? These are guys whose profiles say they’re seeking a LTR. I mean, I’d understand a no name approach if they were looking for hookups. So, when a guy sends me more than 2 or 3 messages back & forth without giving me his first name, I write him off as somebody just into anonymous ego boost, not somebody seriously looking for LTR. Am I misjudging these (nameless) guys?

You may very well be.
I don’t take names very seriously. I just invent new names for people I spend a lot of time with, and don’t expect anyone to know my name. My female friends all have some crazy names that stem from our interactions, and I haven’t called them by their real name for… a long time. 🙂

No there definitely guys who are serious with out wanting to give out there actual name. It is the internet after all.

Yeah ditto – I wouldn’t even think about it – to me a name is nothing, I want to know about their personality etc.
