I have seen responses where some people say yes but a lot, I think most have said no. What do you think?

Not in my opinion. Although it can he illegal depending in where you Iive. As long as you’re not breaking any laws, though, I see no reason why a 19-year-old couldn’t date a 17-year-old.November 14, 2016 at 12:45 am #117171
When I hear answers, please do not give me age does not matter as it does, seeing as there are maturity and life stage gaps. So, is it appropriate for a 19 year old to date a 17 year old?

I can think of much worse age differences…I think you’re good. It might seem a little weird if you’re out of high school and she’s still in high school, but that only lasts about a year (I went through it). Follow your heart, if it’s real it’s real….good luck.

It’s not creepy. It’s a two year age gap. But be careful. I’ve known people who suffered life-altering consequences as a result of this sort of thing being illegal in many states. In some states you can date, but no sex. In some you can have “Sexual contact,” and some you can’t. Some where you can have “Sexual contact” define it differently. Some require the consent of the guardian of the 17 year old. Just know the laws in your state.

No. Not at all. Age is just a number. If you two are compatible with each other you’re good to go.

No – I don’t think so

Not at all. You’re only 2 years older. Its cool to date someone who’s yonger then you as long as it’s OK where you live.
