I've got a sweet tooth so, why is my eye candy avoiding me?

I’m a local at the store where this delicious Godiva milky-whipped smooth chocolate male works. When we first encountered, he made a comment about my hair. By the time I was finished shopping, we were flirting, smiling, with lots of heavy confident eye contact. I saw him several times after that encounter and there was nothing more than the “eye contact game” between us. No smiling, no wave, nothing. One of those times, I swore I saw him rotate around the corner when he noticed me coming. Yesterday, I was in his store a little bit more dolled up than my regular, shmegular self. As soon as we saw each other, we locked eyes for like 2.5 seconds. He then abruptly broke eye contact and stared straight ahead in his initial walking direction. A little later, I was coming down an aisle that was divided by a wine display and I looked up and noticed that he was coming from the other end of the aisle! He quickly glanced at me and went around the display very obviously avoiding contact with me.
