    Online Dating Username

Looking for opinions about my online dating (match, Okcupid) username. A little background, I am a doctor who is entering the dating scene for the first time in a few years and am new to online dating. Should I make some mention of my being a doctor in my username, or would that be seen as pretentious/narcissistic? I was thinking something along the lines of dr(my first name) as my username. Thanks for the advice!

No, do not mention your a doctor but they will ask what you do for a living. You can pick anything for a Username but I would not use your first name. I had a Ford Explorer built in 2005 so I used explorer05 Good Luck.

no, I wouldn’t use your profession of doctor…you will get women who are looking for a doctor’s paycheck rather than a woman looking for YOU…

I agree, if they want to know what you do, they will talk to topi and ask. Putting that out there might attract the wrong kind of person you want.

I agree with everyone not to use doctor or doc because that might make others think doctor.

Admit it the only reason you what to use Dr. in your user name is to attract hot looking “gold diggers”.

If that’s your goal then by all means use it. You might want your profile picture to contain a Maserati in the background.
Listen if you’re only interested in “casual dating”, no strings attached sex, or “booty calls” use whatever (bait) you have.

On the other hand if you’re hoping to find a woman who is actually “into you” as human being you might want to tone it down.
Secondly it’s always a good idea to remain anonymous as much as possible when using online dating sites and apps.
Having usernames, instant messaging, and email access through the sites are buffers for your protection from the public.
You don’t want some wacked out weirdo stalker showing up at your job or home.

Have a (mate selection screening process/must haves list.)
Online dating is like peeling an onion, You should remove one layer at a time as the person gradually earns your trust.
