Should I ask my Co-Worker out?

OK so I know dating a Co-Worker is usually a bad idea, but it’s only a summer job. I am currently in College. A little about myself I am smart, funny and athletic. I am not the best looking guy 6 or 7. The girl I have a crush on is also smart, funny, athletic, and very good looking 9 or 10. We are the same age. At work we kinda flirt and talk a lot I when I tease her about various stuff and she always laughs or gives a smart a** reply with a smile on her face. We have our own inside jokes and she always shouts my name with excitement when I show up at work. Things were going fine until today I was planning on asking her out at the end of summer, but today she called me her best guy friends name by mistake. This Tuesday is her birthday and I am bringing her a special birthday cake for her birthday per her request. I was wondering if I should ask her out on Tuesday before I end up to far into friend zone like that other poor guy. If you need more info feel free to ask. Thanks in Advance.
