According to Business Insider, the word sex gets about 2.7 million searches a month, to the surprise of probably no one. But that’s the beauty of the internet — people can search and find whatever they want, even sex. For horny gay men, ManHunt.com is usually a go-to.

ManHunt, not to be confused with the video game, is a popular dating site for gay singles who are interested in NSA sex, threesomes, and other casual encounters. Below we’ll walk you through the ins and outs of ManHunt — everything from the registration to the matching to the pricing and the app. If you’re looking for more than one option, we’ve also included another gay hookup site in this article that’s our favorite.

ManHunt.com Review | Our Top Gay Dating Site

ManHunt Has a Massive User Base & Is Strictly for Hookups Not Dates or Relationships (3.2/5.0 Rating)

What started as a telephone dating service called The Tool Hunt in 1989 has now become one the largest gay dating websites in the world — with more than 6 million members. ManHunt’s motto is “Any guy. Any time. Anywhere,” and the site means it. If you’re looking for casual sex, you’ve come to the right place. If it’s a serious relationship you’re looking for, you should look elsewhere.

Signing up on ManHunt is pretty straightforward, starting off with a few pieces of necessary information: name, password, email address, age, location, headline, and profile text. You have to fill all of this out, as well as upload a photo, to become a member. You can also choose to have an account automatically created for MHCams.com, a live cam site to which you’ll get 120 free credits.

ManHunt has over 6 million members wanting to find a hookup and requires all of them to input things like their name, age, and location to have their profile approved.

It only takes a couple of minutes to fill out this first section, and the next two sections can be skipped if you want to jump straight into searching. However, we wouldn’t recommend doing that as these sections include the qualities and characteristics you want people to know about you — like what you look like (height, build, and hair and eye color) and your ethnicity.

ManHunt takes the sexiness factor up a notch with other characteristics and preferences like HIV status, penis size, where you want to have sex (in a car, in public, etc.), if you’re circumcised or not, and what you’re into (role playing, group sex, no strings, or raunchier stuff).

The site will suggest horny singles for you as well as allow you to go hunting on your own — with features like basic search and advanced search, which you can save and come back to at anytime. There are also tabs at the top where you can see new profiles, who’s online now, who’s a mutual match, and who your interested matches are.

As with most gay sex sites, ManHunt lets free members send virtual winks to singles they like, but unlike most gay sex sites, ManHunt also lets them send messages. The number is limited, but it’s better than nothing. Save the juicy messages on the Conversations page so you can quickly and easily get back to them later.

Free members have access to video chat as well, but to be able to do what you want without any restrictions, upgrading to a paying membership is the way to go. It’s $8.25 a month for 12 months, $9.15 a month for six months, $10 a month for three months.

On ManHunt, you can get as specific about your needs as you want, including your preferred penis size and sex position.

ManHunt is all about helping gay men find hot hookups, but the site also wants those hookups to be safe. Created in 2002, ManHuntCares.com is a brother site that provides vital sexual health information, including how to avoid contracting an STD and how to tell someone if you’re HIV positive.

The ManHunt app works basically the same way as the site, but we’ve seen numerous complaints about technical bugs such as being randomly logged out and not being able to see profiles on the Conversations page. These issues are probably why the app has a two-star rating on iTunes. We’re all on our phones all the time now, but just keep these bugs in mind, especially if you’re going to upgrade.

Our Top Gay Dating Site That We’d Recommend

ManHunt does have its perks, but for frisky singles, we’ve always been a fan of BeNaughty. Here are the key components you need to know about the site:

BeNaughty is a popular "hookup" site that drops all the pretenses of dating and just gets down to the nitty-gritty of hooking up. Browse profiles in any town for free. Full Review »

Overall Rating ★★★★ 3.5/5.0
Gender Ratio M: 48% | F: 52%*
Popularity 13.3 Million*

In addition, singles seem to like BeNaughty’s app more than they do ManHunt’s. It has three and a half stars on Google Play, but bugs have come up every now and then, which is to be expected with anything technical.

Lega C. Frozt said, “The site is cool, but the app almost feels like a different site. Awful app — I’ll stick to the site till you fix it.” The important thing worth noting is the BeNaughty team is very responsive to complaints — they respond to almost every comment on Google Play and are available 24/7 no matter what the issue is.

Thanks to ManHunt and BeNaughty, Hunting for Gay Men Has Never Been Easier!

We want you to think of online dating as an all-you-can-eat buffet — there are a ton of things to try, so you don’t have to limit yourself to just one. In our opinion, ManHunt is like the sides, while BeNaughty is like the main entree. They work well together but also separately, depending on your mood (or appetite). Good luck!
