Tinder PC: The Platform for a Global Community of Singles to “Speed Date” Online

Lauren Keys Lauren Keys • 4/12/16

The Short Version: The dating site Tinder PC seeks to expand the reaches of other sites and apps to find singles all over the world from a web browser on your desktop, tablet, or phone. With its online speed dating service, members can find other singles and video chat securely directly from its website, a unique feature in the dating world.

Many people feel restricted by today’s multitude of dating sites and apps — from dictating the area in which you can search for singles to the functionality of matching and messaging.

Tinder PC offers singles all over the world a free way to find and chat with each other online through their dating site, which boasts live video chat and photo-sharing capabilities. Once you create a free profile, either with an email address and manually setting up your profile or by signing up through Facebook (which will automatically pull in pictures and content), you can begin meeting new singles.

A basic profile is free, but you can upgrade to become a VIP member for just $14.99 to get more promotion on the site, including a badge added to your profile and thumbnail of your VIP status.

Expanding Horizons — Tinder PC Connects Singles Around the Globe

The problem with a lot of digital dating, from apps to websites, is the restrictions added to how you can join and who can join. From exorbitant fees to specifications of looks or status, some tools meant to help narrow down what you’re looking for end up eliminating great options.

With Tinder PC, both free and VIP members have the same ability to search outside of just “nearby” results to find that perfect person they connect with on a deeper level.

Husband and wife team Javier Ayvar and Leticia Eritier created Tinder PC as a way for more people to access broader results, which many experts agree is the best way to approach dating — with an open mind rather than being extremely selective.

“We provide a social solution for users by offering more than other apps or sites,” Leticia said. “We want to be a complement to what people are already using to date, so our site has features that get people interacting right away rather than swiping candidates away.”

Unique Features, Like “Online Speed Dating,” Bring Users Together

One of the most unique features Leticia described was the site’s speed dating service where members can actually meet other users with live voice and video.

Tinder PC offers an online version of speed dating for safe and secure video chatting.

The service is free for all members and provides a safe place, since it is through their site, for people to connect before meeting in person or moving their relationship off the site, which poses a problem if you give personal contact information to someone you haven’t been able to see and speak with.

Image-Only Forums Called “Moments”

Another fun aspect of the site is called Moments, a page where users can upload pictures to site-wide image-only forums to capture the attention of anyone currently browsing online. Moments also allow users to comment and like on the shared images to make connecting even easier.

Currently, you can search for members based on name and how recently their profile was created, but this year Tinder PC will roll out updates to the search to include a radius around a location (right now, members can only sort by locations such as city and country, but not more precise than that).

Upcoming Upgrades to TinderPC

Later this year, members will also be able to like profile pages and receive real-time notifications about activities related to their profiles.

The speed dating service has been so popular, explained Leticia, that it has triggered her team to further develop and optimize chat for mobile, which will include video and audio calling, chat rooms, immediate text translation, photo sharing, and emoji support in 2016.

Tinder PC was Created by Community-Building Experts

After forming several successful fan communities, like Tin for Travelers, Leticia and Javier wanted to create a better dating community to open the door to more possibilities for singles worldwide.

Wenmarie Rodriguez, who handles customer support on Tinder PC

Wenmarie Rodriguez is one of the originals at Tinder PC and handles tasks like customer support.

The husband and wife duo lead the dating site’s team — Javier acts as CEO, while Leticia serves as the CFO for the site.

Wenmarie Rodriguez is the gatekeeper when it comes to approving new profiles on the site. She also handles customer support and removes inappropriate content like harassment and spam. Finalizing the team is TJ James, who works as the site developer and programs the functionality of the site.

As an experienced team, the people behind Tinder PC strive to maintain a site they can be proud of that helps singles across the globe.

Final Thoughts

Leticia and Javier are excited that their dating site brings singles together to try for a chance at romance.

“The speed dating service really helps break down the walls so people can get to know each other,” Leticia said, which is probably why it is one of the most popular features of the site.

As Tinder PC grows, the team behind it remains dedicated to the idea that the site is a community of daters first, and as such it plans to implement new features that make meeting single members even easier.
