According to a recent study, 21% of men said their looks affect how sexy they feel and the most common body worry for men was looking too thin.

If you’ve been daydreaming about dating your male friend but are worried you are in “the friend zone,” worry no more.

Research shows men still view their female friends as potential dates, even if they have been friends for many years.

In fact, men were more likely to be attracted to female friends who they thought might fancy them.

5. Men are more likely to say the L-word first.

Women are meant to be the ones who are obsessed with falling in love, but it is in fact men who are more likely to say “I love you” first.

On average men say the L-word after three months of being with a woman, while a woman normally takes an average of five months to say it.

6. His hobbies mean a lot to him.

If your man loves playing the guitar or fishing, don’t dismiss it as a silly hobby.

You don’t have to share his hobby (in fact, he probably wants something to enjoy on his own), but it’s important to encourage and support his passion.

In a study presented at an annual conference of the British Sociological Association, 63 percent of women and 59 percent of men said they wanted children.

Researcher Robin Hadley, of Keele University, found men were significantly more likely to suffer depression, feelings of isolation, anger, jealousy and sadness because they didn’t have children. Women were more likely to experience yearning or guilt from being childless.

“Sixty-three percent of women and 59

percent of men said they wanted children.”

The study also found men were more likely to feel social and cultural pressures to have kids, while women felt biological urges and personal desire.

“There is very little research on the desire for fatherhood among men. My work shows that there was a similar level of desire for parenthood among childless men and women,” Hadley said. “This challenges the common idea that women are much more likely to want to have children than men and that they consistently experience a range of negative emotions more deeply if they don’t have children.”

A recent study published by France’s Institut des Sciences de l’Evolution gathered 100 male participants and showed them an assortment of photographs of women, asking the men to rate the women on their attractiveness.

The men were then shown a selection of four photographs of new women, which included photos of women whose faces had been digitally manipulated to look more like the participating males. Within the second experiment, researchers revealed 37 percent of the males rated the face looking the most like their own as the most attractive.

“Thirty-seven percent of males said the face that

closest resembled their own was the most attractive.”

The study’s researchers also looked at a selection of married couples, finding these couples shared more facial similarity with each other than with randomly selected individuals. Facial similarities were compared by looking at traits like eye color, hair color, thickness of the eyebrows and lips, dimples and other visible features.

The findings of this recent study correspond with the findings of similar studies, including a 2008 study determining men were likely to find a woman attractive if that woman resembled his mother and women were likely to find a man attractive if he resembled her father.

But it’s worth a shot. The way we learn to like something is to understand it. The way you get him to agree to sit through or play the sport of your choice so you can explain the fabulous little details to him is to watch an entire football game with him and let him explain it to you, play by play and down by down.

Don’t insult or denigrate the football game. You have to respect his game if you want him to respect yours.

Let’s say you want to get him interested in playing golf with you. Turn on a PGA tournament and sit down with him. Tell him how they have to look at the length of the fairway, the bends in the course, the hills and valleys, the rough, the trees, the wind, the sand, and water hazards.

Help him find some of the same strategy he loves about football in the game you love. All games have strategy and plays. They just come together in different ways.

You might have to bribe him with his favorite dinner or something else he likes to get him to sit down with you, and you should go into the golf match (or basketball game or whatever) with a bit of understanding about his beloved game of football so you can draw parallels he will understand and appreciate.

It’s best if you can get him to commit to sitting through the whole game so he will have to give it a fair shot. (Give the football game a fair shot, too!)

The campaign was so successful and memorable not because it told older women what they wanted to hear, but because it struck a chord of truth that had been ignored for far too long.

Millions of women found new vigor and zest for life by simply coloring their gray hair to a more youthful shade and giving up the granny fashions for those that exuded more power and value.

Today, women routinely stay engaged in careers and meaningful roles until retirement and well beyond. And senior men could not be more delighted with the pool of women in their peer group.

When it comes to senior women, what’s not to like?

1. Maturity has its perks.

Men are all too familiar with the feeling that they are valued less just as they reach the peak of their knowledge and ability.

When they should be running the company, they are relegated to subordinate roles under some clueless young newbie with a freshly minted MBA or farmed off to a smaller location or into retirement. It’s senseless, but it’s the reality in the business place way too often.

Women are often written off in their careers for the same reason, but their social value also depends much more on youth and beauty than a man’s.

While that may be true to TV advertisers and casting agents, it is not at all true for the men their own age. They fully understand and appreciate the traits that can only be found in a real woman of experience.

Senior men have discovered what is really important to a smooth and rewarding life, and so have senior women. Senior men and women share a more compatible world view, and their cultural histories have common threads.

They grew up enjoying the same music, living through the same political events and learning to achieve the same goals by following the same values.

They can talk about subjects they both enjoy and understand and challenge each other intellectually, which is very important to a man.

Soul mates have to be simpatico on many levels, and this gives senior women a big advantage with senior men.

3. Sexual compatibility.

The stability and depth of human understanding also carries over to the sexual realm. Most men, by the time they have raised a family and survived the trials and tribulations of a relationship and life, have adopted the kind of mindset women learned by the time they were 30: Love and sex cannot really be separated.

Without seeing your online profile, I can’t tell exactly where the flaws in your photo or description are. In my new book, “The 30 Day Love Detox,” I have devoted an entire chapter to online profile writing and using online dating sites. While I can’t fit in all the information here, I’d love to give you a few pointers:

1. Pout, don’t smile.

Yes, that silly little duck face on women gets statistically more clicks online than a smile.

2. Under estimate your height.

Shorter women get more clicks than tall women.

3. Take a photo in your home with no flash.

A picture that doesn’t use a flash can make you look up to seven years younger, and professional photos don’t get as many clicks as natural ones.

4. Use perfect grammar in your profile.

If you don’t care about yourself enough to make your profile grammatically correct, how can you care enough about your relationships?

5. Don’t chase men with emails.

That will turn them off. Instead view a lot of profiles without sending a message. Men will know who viewed them and wonder why you didn’t write them.

6. Be authentic and unique.

Trying to please everyone means you’re not going to passionately energize anyone.

Sure, I could answer this question with a variety of filthy answers, each more specific and vulgar than the last, but ultimately sex is only one route to a man’s heart.

Weirdness.

When I say men are attracted to weirdness, I don’t mean the sort of weirdness that involves collecting dolls and replacing their heads with photos of your ex-boyfriends. I mean the sort of weirdness that represents an authentic reflection of your own deepest, dorkiest nature.

Because let’s be honest — there’s probably some aspect of your personality that is nerdy, that is quirky or that’s a little too passionate about Justin Bieber.

Instead of trying to hide this side of yourself, highlight it. Make it clear you aren’t the queen of cool. Let it be known you aren’t scared of seeming silly or a little bit odd.
