A man who is confident will engage in active listening with a woman, displaying genuine interest in her life (as he has self-belief) and allowing her to take center stage.

He looks her in the eye and displays sincerity, as he wants to build/maintain a strong rapport.

Don’t confuse cockiness with arrogance.

If you have made these mistakes, then you need to develop new skills.

It takes time and energy to improve yourself. However, once you develop confidence, poise and insights into what a woman wants and apply them, I promise you women will swarm to you as a result.

1. Be kind.

Once you are into your 50s and older, then you have already started to notice the need for more friends in your life. But you’ve probably also noticed the greater need for mutual support.

A mature woman wants a man who is kind and caring more than she wants the cocky guy in his 30s, whom she now just finds tedious and immature.

3. Be financially viable.

Single women over 50 are no longer looking for a sugar daddy prince to sweep them off of their feet and provide for them financially at the 100 percent level that some women in their 20s and 30s still are.

Yes, she wants you to be financially stable and viable enough that you have socked away some assets into your retirement savings and own your own home.

But since you two are not looking to start a family like the 20-somethings are, she doesn’t seek you take care of her like a pampered princess.

What do these men and women have in common?

The men found success in some capacity. That means money, fame, stability and financial security.

The women are all young, blonde models.

Yea, I know. It’s not quite a revelation. Most men like young, attractive women, and many women are attracted to successful men.

Why do men chase sex and women chase success?

It’s really quite easy. It’s all about survival of the species, and it dates back to our prehistoric ancestors.

A man’s job, other than whacking a saber-toothed tiger and starting a cave fire, was to propagate the species.

That meant to impregnate as many women as possible to ensure the clan would continue.

He looked for mates that had the best chance of reproduction: young and with bodies that could survive delivery (wide hips, which meant curves).

She, on the other hand, was looking for a mate who could provide for her and her offspring.

The more status he had, the better chance of survival for herself and her children.

Very often the man with the most status was older and well-respected and could provide her with food and necessities that might have been difficult to access on her own.

Fast forward 12,000 years later.

Although men no longer need to spread their sperm to ensure the survival of humankind, and although a woman can provide for herself and her children, we are still wired as our ancestors were.

Men still are driven to find a mate that triggers their natural instincts, one that can bear healthy children, while women are still keyed into finding that man who can take care of them and their children.

We may try and separate ourselves from our past, but it’s only been 12,000 years of evolution.

That’s not enough time to rid ourselves of these instincts we no longer need for survival, which brings us to hottie Beth Ostrosky becoming Mrs. Fartman (er, uh, I mean, Mrs. Howard Stern).

News flash to all single men out there: You do not have to be the hot, good-looking guy to win over a beautiful woman!

As a matchmaker and dating coach, I have interviewed thousands of single women and, believe it or not, women are actually much less superficial when it comes to looks than men are.

Now obviously there needs to be some sort of attraction, but women will rarely say a “must have” is hot looks. Women tend to focus more on the qualities a man has to offer.

Women have repeatedly told me the top three qualities they are looking for in a man are:

1. Sense of humor.

When it comes to sense of humor, don’t worry. You don’t have to be a stand-up comedian, but you do have to have a great sense of humor.

Women really love it when a man can make them laugh.

2. Confidence.

Now when I say “confidence,” please do not confuse that with being “cocky.” If there’s one thing that turns a woman off, it’s a cocky man.

What’s important for you to know is no matter what you look like, you should just be confident in knowing who you are and your self-worth.

When a woman sees you’re confident in yourself, she will find that attractive and will want to be around you.

3. How you treat her.

How you treat a woman on a date is so important. Chivalry is not dead.

If you’re a total gentleman on a date, you will rise to the top above all the other guys she dates who aren’t. Trust me, women notice it and it can actually make or break a date.

So stop thinking the only reason why you’re not having any luck with women is because you’re not a hot guy.

Your looks don’t really have anything to do with it and you need to start working on your confidence, sense of humor and chivalry.

Benedict Jones and his researchers wanted to study the ways in which pathogen disgust might influence a woman’s preferences in men. Pathogen disgust refers to sensitivities about health and disease.

Previous research has found that in disease ridden regions, women prefer men with masculine faces, and women who perceive their own health to be poor also demonstrate stronger preferences for masculine voices.

Researchers studied women’s sensitivities to three types of disgust: moral, sexual and pathogen.

Participants listened to male voices and viewed images of men that were considered to be masculine or feminine and were asked to rate which voices and images they found more attractive.

The study also included a portion where unattached women rated the masculinity of their ideal partner and attached women rated the masculinity of both their actual and ideal partner.

Researchers found women who are sensitive to pathogen disgust preferred men with deeper voices and manly faces and bodies. These women also identified their current or ideal partner as highly masculine.

Coming out of Bar-Ilan University in Israel, the study found women with high sex drives were much more selective about who they’d choose for a short-term relationship than women with low sex drives.

By contrast, men with both high and low sex drives preferred attractive women, but those with high sex drives said they would also enter into short-term relationships with less attractive women.

who they’d choose for a short-term relationship.”

Researchers studied 78 students and identified participants as either sexually hyperactive or sexually deactive.

After identifying each student’s sexual capacity, researchers had the students watch videos of men and women with varying levels of attractiveness. Participants then reported whether or not they’d enter into a short-term relationship with the men and women in the videos.

The study’s researchers explained their results through evolutionary biology, arguing women need to consider the potential repercussions from a short-term relationship (a child) and will choose a partner with good genes, while men experience less of a necessary investment in short-term relationships, even if a child results from the union.

Men’s grooming brand Scaramouch & Fandango released the study’s results, finding more than half of all modern women (61 percent) consider the 1950s man to be more attractive and desirable than a modern 21st century man.

Women stated they appreciated the good grooming, good style and good manners of the quintessential 1950s man.

Grooming played a large role in the results, which noted 47 percent of modern men lack any sort of grooming regimen. By contrast, the 1950s man maintained a clean, tailored look without indulging in the fussiness of the modern “metro-sexual.”

Finally, women also desired many personality traits of classical masculinity inherent within the 1950s man, as epitomized by Don Draper of “Mad Men,” and considered these traits lacking within modern males.

However, some have reacted to the study by noting the 1950s man desired by these women is primarily fictional, or at least distorted through a highly selective filter of nostalgia.

While 1950s men may have demonstrated better traditional manners than modern men, they also believed women belonged at home and women who wanted to earn their own keep had few professional options to pursue.

Modern women may find certain aspects of the 1950s male desirable, but it’s unlikely they’d be happy living with the era’s gender dynamics.

A new report, featured in Match.com’s LoveGeist report, suggests a woman’s priorities for a mate simply change as she ages. According to the report, what constitutes the “perfect man” for a woman is going to be a lot different when she’s 22 than when she’s 32, 42, 52 or 62.

However, the report makes it clear women continue to maintain high standards throughout their lives, even as their values shift, ultimately finding that senior women are actually considerably pickier about who they date than young women.

Women ages 35 to 44 are the most likely to date a much older man, while women ages 45 to 54 are the most likely to date a much younger man.

Finally, women 55 and older are more interested in intelligence and a shared sense of humor more than anything else.

The dating website UKDating.com recently conducted a study where they surveyed 2,173 women on their dating lives. Among the interesting facts derived from the study, UKdating.com found the average woman will date 24 different men before she finds “Mr. Right.”

This search can be time consuming and costly, as the average British woman spends £2,000 in her quest for love. This expenditure includes the cost of prepping for dates, but it also indicates how an increasing number of women are now paying for themselves and their dates.

However, the women surveyed indicated they were more concerned with wasting time and energy than money, as one-third of the women surveyed revealed they walked out of dates early if it was clear the man they were seeing wasn’t what they were looking for.

While women averaged dating 24 different men before finding Mr. Right, 7 percent of women went on 41-60 dates before they found their life partner and 1 percent went on 61-80 dates before discovering the love of their life.
