Incorporated in 1985, the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV) is a state level non-profit organization that has ...proven its capacity as a state and national resource in responding to the needs of battered women, men and children. Currently, there are 25 direct service domestic violence member programs across the state. ICADV staff provide training, counseling, community outreach, program management, and technical support for the member programs, professionals and the community. History:
Community awareness of the pervasiveness and severity of domestic violence in Kentucky heightened in the late 1970’s. The Y ...WCA in Louisville opened Kentucky’s first spouse abuse shelter in 1977. By 1980 there were six shelter programs serving battered women and their children in Kentucky. The Kentucky Domestic Violence Association (now known as the Kentucky Coalition Against Domestic Violence, KCADV) was founded in 1981 by the staff of the six existing programs as a statewide coalition whose membership was to include all domestic violence programs in Kentucky. The Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault (MCASA) is the federally recognized state sexual assault coalition. Our mission is to help prevent sexual assault, advocate for accessible, compassionate care for survivors of sexual violence, and work to hold offenders accountable. MCASA provides policy advocacy, technical assistance, training, outreach, and prevention. MCASA’s Sexual Assault Legal Institute (SALI) provides direct legal services for victims and survivors of sexual violence.
