The Short Version: FlyCleaners is a service for busy New Yorkers who don’t have time for laundry day and who’ve often found themselves digging through the dirty laundry for that article of clothing they need to look great — whether it’s for a job interview, date, or any other special occasion. Customers can request laundry service through the app and have their clothes picked up from their home in as little as 20 minutes. Instead of spending hours at the laundromat, FlyCleaners lets you stay home and keep track of the cleaning process from your cellphone. Clothes return fresh and folded — sometimes as quickly as overnight — so you’ll never be without an amazing outfit.

Today, you can catch rides, make reservations, order dinner, or find dates through mobile apps, but cleaning clothes before heading out on the town still requires a lot of effort.

No one likes laundry day, but it can be even more of a pain if you don’t have a washer and dryer. You have to lug your clothes to the laundromat or dry cleaners — hopefully before it closes. Then comes the waiting, folding, and carrying it all back.

FlyCleaners helps New Yorkers eliminate laundry from their to-do lists with cleaning options and pickup and delivery services.

FlyCleaners, which is based in New York City, was created to change the way people deal with their dirty laundry. Customers can have their laundry picked up at their apartment, cleaned, and delivered back to them in as little as a day. Sometimes, it takes just 20 minutes for a FlyCleaners professional to arrive and get the process underway.

The company was founded to provide New Yorkers with a much-needed service while saving them precious time. And customer service is at the heart of the business model, which has allowed FlyCleaners to attract customers throughout the five boroughs.

“Our mission has been to give our customers back their time, so they can work hard and play hard,” said David Salama, Co-Founder and CEO of FlyCleaners. “We provide a convenient and easy experience that allows them to get their laundry and dry cleaning done from the comfort of their own homes. Laundry is ranked as the most loathsome and abhorred of household chores and FlyCleaners is there to make it go away.”

From Helping People Avoid the Laundromat to Completing More Than 500,000 Orders

Co-Founders David Salama and Seth Berkowitz had the idea for FlyCleaners in 2013. The two hated laundry day — and they knew there had to be an easier way to deal with dirty clothes.

“We live in a world where technology has transformed everything that we do, except for the way that we get our clothes cleaned,” David said. “FlyCleaners was built on the idea that it was time to change that. So we built a team that excels at wiping the board clean and attacking a problem from square one.”

While designing and perfecting the app, the team built a logistics network that now includes more than 100 employees and dozens of FlyCleaners vans that transverse the city.

People select a pickup and delivery time, and FlyCleaners takes care of everything else.

All customers need to do is download the app, on iOS or Android, enter some basic account details, and they’re ready to request a laundry pickup. A FlyCleaners van will arrive in as little as 20 minutes.

“They can also choose when they want their clothing back. We can turn around basic laundry overnight. You can get down to your last pair of underwear before having us pick up your dirty clothes and still be ready for the next day,” David said.

FlyCleaners has thus far completed more than 500,000 orders, which equates to more than 5 million pounds of laundry. It even offers express overnight services, so customers can have their favorite date outfit cleaned and delivered to their door the following morning so they’ll look sharp. And when FlyCleaners says it delivers to your door, that includes to customers living in fifth-floor walk-ups.

Commitment to Customer Service Means Live Representatives and Plenty of Features

Not only is FlyCleaners convenient but it’s also reasonably priced and designed to handle all of your favorite garments with care.

“One of the things we highlight in our service guarantee and commitment to our customers is that we know the items they’re sending us are more than just pieces of fabric. They are pieces of your identity,” David said. ” Whether it’s your favorite cocktail dress, best business suit, or a lucky pair of underwear, clothes are deeply connected to our memories.”

With that in mind, the app allows customers to track their items throughout the cleaning process. Notifications are sent when an order is picked up, being cleaned, and ready for scheduled delivery. A list of every item — including the price to clean each – is listed in your updates to ensure everything is accounted for.

App users can also list preferences for how they’d like each item to be cleaned. Some can be folded while others may need pressing or dry cleaning. If customers want FlyCleaners to use fabric softener, bleach on their whites, or have a chemical-free cleaning, they can make that clear in the special instructions section of their order form.

“We love what we do, and we love improving everything about our service every day,” he added.

The company also takes customer service seriously. Its call center is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and representatives typically respond to email questions within 30 minutes.

Part of the FlyCleaners guarantee is that it will deliver clean clothes at the time customers request, so they don’t have to sit around waiting on the van.

Testimonials Show Why FlyCleaners is at the Top of Its Game

FlyCleaners has revolutionized the way many New Yorkers get their laundry done by helping them eliminate trips to the laundromat and dry cleaner for good. Plenty of customers in The Big Apple are singing the company’s praises.

“For me, laundry is always an afterthought. I leave for work really early, and I am never home before 7 when the cleaners close,” said Ashleigh in an online review. “So, if I’m going to be wearing clean clothes, I need laundry on-demand. FlyCleaners picks it up and drops it off while I’m getting ready for a night out or watching Game of Thrones in my PJs.”

When you schedule a pickup, a FlyCleaners van can be at your home in as little as 20 minutes.

Another customer, Noah, was also impressed by the company, giving it high marks for service.

“They rule. Every time I’ve used them they have been prompt on the pickup, even late at night,” he said. “I wake up, request delivery and it’s back. All done while I sleep. It comes back neatly folded and clean and right to my door at a reasonable cost. What else could I want?”

Now, FlyCleaners is working to expand to other neighborhoods in New York City. David said the company has been steadily adding more boroughs.

“We also have some ideas about how to bring our customers products and services that we think they’ll love,” he said. “I can’t share too many details yet, though. Every good dater knows that you don’t spill all the beans on the first date.”
