The Short Version: Highway West Vacations invites dating, engaged, and married couples to get away from their everyday cares and immerse themselves in beautiful and secluded communities. The vacation company has 10 properties that range from glamping campgrounds to adults-only hotels. Highway West Vacations can accommodate visitors of all ages with its contactless amenities. In the last year, the RV resorts have become particularly popular among adventurous couples hoping to enjoy a safe, social distancing vacation.

Since the early days of America’s history, going West has meant seeking opportunity, fortune, and fame. Whether they’re chasing rumors of new gold discoveries or the glitz of Hollywood, people have long strode into the sunset to find their happily-ever-after endings.

The Western United States now offers a goldmine of vacation opportunities, and Highway West Vacations can help couples and families make the most of their time in mountain valleys and coastal areas.

Highway West Vacations began with Flying Flags RV Resort and Campground in Buellton, California. The family-friendly space has long attracted road-trippers and campers seeking an outdoor adventure in the Santa Ynez Valley. Now multi-million-dollar renovations have turned the property into a destination in its own right.

Building on the success of Flying Flags, Highway West Vacations has expanded to run RV resorts, hotels, and campgrounds at some of the most beautiful National Parks in the West. The vacation company currently has 10 properties spread across California, Colorado, Oregon, and Hawaii.

Couples can search the Highway West Vacations website to find unique vacation spots where they don’t have to worry about waiting in lines or shuffling in crowds. These RV resorts and campgrounds offer open spaces and fresh mountain air.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many vacationers have flocked to these rejuvenating date spots to take a load off their minds and spend quality time with loved ones.

Whether you’re nestled by the firepit or playing bocce ball on property, you can make the most of your downtime by reserving a spot with Highway West Vacations.

“We have everything our guests need to create a cozy romantic getaway in a cabin, safari tent, or RV,” said Meg Milligan, Director of Hospitality Marketing at Highway West Vacations. “People have really gotten excited about the properties because they offer a new and safe way to travel.”

Relax on Properties Surrounded by Nature

Highway West Vacations has a rich offering available in Southern California. Flying Flags is a family-friendly campground close to vineyards and mountain trails. Meanwhile The Winston puts couples in the heart of the quaint town of Solvang, which is known as the Danish capital of the U.S.

Solvangis full of windmills, bakeries, and historic churches, so it isn’t hard for daters to find romance in the town square and then retreat to The Winston for a nightcap.

“The Winston has been well-received, and it’s a favorite place to travel for Christmas because it is so quiet and romantic,” Meg told us. “Our properties lend themselves as a good home base for exploring the area.”

The Vinland Hotel is another Highway West Vacations property in Solvang. The hotel has 82 rooms, including upscale suites where couples can pamper themselves with room-service meals in bed or on the outdoor patio. Of course, if you’re feeling stir-crazy, you can always wander down to the V Lounge for light bites and craft cocktails. The V Lounge is the only place in Solvang that has late-night service.

Plus, the Vinland is dog-friendly, so couples don’t have to leave their fur babies at home when they travel.

Vinland’s Specialty Wine Suites offer vouchers to local vineyards and wine lists.

Located in Oregon, Shelter Cove Resort and Marina is a favorite getaway for fishermen and fisherwomen. The expansive property features nine docks on Odell Lake where couples and families can set sail all year round, weather permitting. The cabins come fully furnished with a kitchen, so it’s a great opportunity to avoid restaurants and cook what you catch throughout the trip.

Grand Lake Lodge in Colorado is a fun vacation destination with access to natural lakes and spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains. The cabins were built in the 1930s and are currently being renovated to include more 21st-century amenities.

Grand Lake Lodge typically hosts more than 30 weddings a year, but it has had to scale back in 2020 due to social distancing restrictions and renovation work.

From Colorado to Oregon, Highway West Vacations helps visitors get in touch with nature. Its properties are ideally located within walking distance of mountain trails, beaches, and other scenic spots to facilitate an outdoor adventure with no muss and no fuss.

“You don’t need to bring your stilettos to have a good time,” Meg said. “Everything is approachable and geared toward how people want to travel.”

Invisible Service Makes Couples Feel at Home

The COVID-19 pandemic has turned the vacation industry all topsy-turvy. An era of social distancing measures and lockdowns have prompted a growing number of Americans to take to the roads instead of the airlines when they want a break from the everyday grind.

Some couples have used their remote work schedule as an opportunity to travel to remote destinations. Highway West Vacations offers a safe space away from crowds where visitors don’t even have to interact with staff members to check in and enjoy themselves.

For years now, Highway West Vacations has embraced “invisible services,” which means services that don’t require staff members to come in contact with guests. The team creates a seamless vacation experience by texting guests an entrance code and offering pre-ordered breakfasts delivered to their door. Some cabins and suites also feature an honor bar with adult beverages in stock.

A few staff members are on property to oversee daily operations, but these individuals make the effort to stay well out of the way and be invisible to the average guest.

“We try to offer a less traditional hospitality experience where people can just relax,” Meg said. “Most of the places are small and intimate. During COVID, people have seen that as a huge benefit.”

Lately, many big city dwellers have ventured to Highway West Vacations in search of a secluded spot for a family trip or romantic date. The campgrounds give people the chance to reconnect with nature and enjoy themselves while staying within social distancing guidelines.

The Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant is a secluded place for a honeymoon or destination wedding.

The Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant is a perfect example of a COVID-safe vacation spot. The resort has 10 rooms available and an on-site restaurant that offers curbside takeout.  This resort has long been a favorite among couples celebrating a destination wedding, honeymoon, or anniversary. Some rooms even feature a private hot tub or fireplace, so couples can stay cozy indoors.

Borrego Valley Inn is an adults-only oasis in Southern California. The hotel has two pools, one of which is clothing optional, and the staff members offer a contactless delivery of a hot breakfast every morning.

During the evenings, the night sky becomes lit up with stars because Borrego Valley is so far away from light pollution. It’s a romantic spot for dating or married couples in need of some adult time.

When you stay at Highway West Vacations properties, you’re more likely to have a nature encounter than a staff encounter, and that makes for a wonderfully personal adventure away from home.

Highway West Vacations Can Make an Outing Extra Special

Looking for a safe yet engaging vacation during the pandemic? Then check out what Highway West Vacations has to offer. The company has created dynamic spaces for RV vacations, camping trips, and romantic getaways of all sorts.

Highway West Vacations currently has 10 sought-after destinations for couples to explore, and the team expects to develop more RV resorts on the West Coast in the coming years.

Over the years, Highway West Vacations has captured the beauty and excitement of classic American landscapes. It’s an opportunity to get in touch with nature and spend time with loved ones. Modern-day couples can go West whenever they want to seek adventure and make memories on dating excursions like no other.

“People want their own private space, and they want to be in nature,” Meg said. “All our properties are in or near national parks because we feel that people need a chance to disconnect and reconnect.”
