Our town is able to support two swingers clubs, and it’s pretty amazing!

Given Oregon’s laws around alcohol and nudity, our clubs are able to have both onsite sex and alcohol, so the environment is quite different than clubs in neighboring states (from what I know).

Visiting a swingers club was the very first thing J. and I did in exploring sexual non-monogamy.

We were both so nervous. We explored the club’s website, called the owner, asked about getting a tour and were totally amped up to get there early and take the tour before the club opened for the night.

We got there at 8 p.m. and looked around nervously. Several friendly staff members and volunteers greeted us and had us fill out some basic paperwork.

Then we took the tour.

When you first walk in, it looks like a vanilla nightclub. There is a full bar and a nice dance floor with mirrors along one side. Everything is clean and shiny and the lighting makes me feel sexy.

That’s where the more vanilla part of the club ends, and you begin to notice the sexy details added.

Behind the bar is a large Roman-inspired, stone-carved mural of sexual deviancy and orgies. There is artwork along all of the walls, changed every month, to showcase local sex-positive, kink-positive and queer-positive artists.

As you walk farther back on the first floor, there is a buffet. They have dinner in the first part of the evening, bring out cookies at midnight and trade the dinner out for breakfast at 12:30 a.m.

The couples’ lounge.

Across the aisle from the buffet line is a curtained-off room called the couples’ lounge. Couples and single women are allowed in.

Inside, there are around eight play areas (mostly king beds) with sheer curtains in between each space. It can be a fairly tame way to explore exhibitionism and voyeurism with one or more partners.

Farther back are some seating areas for eating, as well as a locker room to leave purses and other personal items. The locker room has a heated tile floor and two showers for playing and/or cleaning up.

Farther back are several private rooms. Each one has a closing door, and if the door is closed, you are not allowed to open it. If the door is open, you can watch and even ask to join.

Those playing can certainly say no, at which time you are not allowed to ask again.

The biggest rule of our club: Don’t be creepy.

“We always enjoy the dirty

fun that goes down there.”

The private rooms.

Coming back toward the front of the club, there are stairs leading to the second floor. Several private rooms line half the perimeter of the second floor.

My favorite one is called the “fishbowl room” because there is a large picture window that can be left open if you pull the curtain back. Our first time there immediately spoke to my budding exhibitionist side.

Another room has a sex swing. All private rooms are equipped with rubberized king mattresses covered in nice white sheets.

Bowls of condoms are everywhere. Hand sanitizer, baby wipes, deodorant, hair spray, mouthwash and many other personal care items are in the private rooms and bathrooms.

Across from the fishbowl room, two king beds pushed together make up the orgy bed. Above it is a big-screen TV that plays Hustler porn.

There is a drink bar that surrounds the orgy bed, affectionately called the “blow job bar.” Around the corner from the fishbowl room is a stripper pole and you can enjoy the show from one of the two black couches nearby.

The second floor ends about halfway across the bottom floor, so the people-watching from the second-floor railing is quite fun and entertaining.

Every space is a play space (except for the buffet and dance floor), as long as you use towels or sheets underneath you.

You must clean up your space by putting your linens in a hamper, and staff or volunteers come after you to disinfect any mattresses or surfaces and provide clean linens for the next guests.

There are two other floors the club opens for special events (Halloween, New Year’s Eve, their anniversary party, etc.), so we didn’t see them our first night there.

After our tour, we needed to take a walk outside and talk about if we wanted to stay. We both did.

We go back inside and the woman who gave us our tour buys me a drink and tells us we have to meet at least a couple of new people.

Turns out, it was our lucky night.

We met Carly and Josh, a cute couple in their 20s. We didn’t know it then, but meeting a cute couple in their 20s is a rare occurrence. Most of the club patrons are in their 30s or over.

They were also fairly new to exploring sexual non-monogamy and we had a lot to talk about with them.

J. and I ended up watching Carly dance on the pole for Josh. She was so sexy!

It was my first real in-person exposure to open and sensual female sexuality, and it was expected, encouraged and applauded. I was awestruck.

J. and I weren’t ready that night (although we were the very next night) to play with Carly and Josh, but we still surprised ourselves by having sex together in the couples’ lounge.

That was our first window into the fact that I love being watched during sex but J. really doesn’t very much. It was a total rush.

We left that night and had sex again when we got home and the next morning, as we fantasized together about seeing Carly and Josh that night.

Our swingers club has become a comfortable place.

When we go, most of the time it’s with the goal of socializing in a sexy and sex-positive environment. We don’t expect to play with anyone there, although we do sometimes when it works out.

I have been tied up on the orgy bed (and had sex on it too), danced many a time on the pole, danced naked in the cage they added to the middle of the dance floor, ordered Shirley Temples from the bar (neither of us drink much) and had plenty of cookies and bacon (not at the same time!)

We know many of the other regular patrons and pretty much always enjoy the sexy vibe and dirty fun that goes down there.

Have you ever been to a swingers club? If you have, what was your experience like? If you haven’t, do you have any interest in going with your partner?
