Beaches. Clubbing. Tapas. Miami has just about everything a couple could want on a vacation, and the Shore Club Hotel puts its guests in the middle of the action. This top-rated hotel offers a quiet paradise in the heart of South Beach. Guests enjoy private access to the beach, a full-service spa, a heated infinity pool, and plenty of dining options.
We’ve ranked the Shore Club Hotel as the overall most romantic hotel ever, giving it five out of five stars in terms of dining, spa treatments, and location. This hotel treats guests to a luxury beach vacation without an astronomical price tag, and for that we say it can’t be beat.
The Shore Club offers everything you need to get away from it all. You have a 24-hour fitness center and 24-hour room service to fuel you throughout the day and night. All 308 rooms feature refrigerators, flat-screen televisions, and Eqyptian cotton sheets, and your roomkey is also your key to the private beach.
Many of the Shore Club’s spacious, apartment-style rooms give you breathtaking views of Miami Beach, and, the higher you go, the more stunning the view. Of course, if you’re doing it right, you won’t be spending much time in your room. Instead, you’ll be lounging by the pool, ordering lunch on the beach, getting a deep-tissue massage or a facial, and treating yourself to tacos and margaritas at Diez Y Seis, the Mexican restaurant.
As far as food goes, the Shore Club has a variety of snacks, meals, and desserts to enjoy. You can start with a continental breakfast, which is served from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., and then have your lunch by the pool or on the beach.
Diez Y Seis is the go-to spot for breakfast, brunch, or dinner. Its menu highlights classic Mexican cuisine with a modern twist. People actually clap when large plates of smoked meat, aka corredor del humo, arrive at the table. And you definitely don’t want to miss out on its table-side beverage cart featuring build-your-own Bloody Marys.
Relaxation is guaranteed at the Shore Club Hotel. It’s a rejuvenating vacation spot where guests enjoy the royal treatment. At the Spa, you can relax with your partner during a couples massage in a zen-like space with sweeping views of the ocean. The Glam + Go, an award-winning salon, also provides pampering services to get you looking and feeling your best.
The club-like atmosphere of the Skybar lounge and patio is positively electric. A live DJ often shows up to get guests in a partying mood, and the bartenders have many signature cocktails that offer a taste of Miami’s nightlife.
At the Shore Club, you can soak in the sun at the beach, by the pool, or on your private balcony. You can decide to dress up and have a white-tablecloth dinner date, or you can stay in your swim gear and sandals all day as you explore South Beach and then order room service while you settle in for a movie marathon.
The iconic Shore Club Hotel is walking distance to the Bayshore Golf Course, Miami Beach Botanical Garden, and the Bass Museum of Art, so you don’t have to wander too far to find a fun date activity with your significant other. Ask the front desk about the hotel’s free bike rentals and towncar service to help you explore the city at your leisure.
Tucked away in the Alps, The Alpina in Gstaad Switzerland has combined Swiss traditions with modern luxuries and called it “Alpine chic.” This hotel has 56 rooms and suites that may look like rustic cabins at first glance, but they boast all the conveniences you’d expect in a five-star hotel — including a private Jacuzzi in the three-bedroom Panorama Suite.
From the gourmet restaurants to the picturesque mountain views, The Alpina is exceptional in many ways, and it can excite couples with rock climbing adventures in the summer and ice skating or snowboarding in the winter. This is a romantic place where you can get away from it all and pamper yourself at the garden pool, yoga studio, or Six Senses Spa.

The Baccarat Hotel in New York City promises its guests limitless luxury in its 114 rooms and suites. This vibrant, award-winning hotel will make your jaw drop as you gaze at its pleated silk walls, private art collection, and crystalline decorations. You can leave the noisy, crowded city behind and lounge by the indoor heated pool and receive a skincare treatment at the spa.
If you really want to vacation in style, you can use the hotel’s house car service to take you through the Manhattan streets. Plus, the Baccarat’s Grand Salon with its 22-foot-high ceiling provides the perfect backdrop for a memorable dinner date.
Of course, New York City isn’t the only romantic place in the Empire State. Upstate New York has attracted wealthy vacationers since the days of the Rockefellers, and Bolton’s Landing is known as “Millionaire’s Row” to locals because of its high-caliber attractions and sights. Located on a quiet island on Lake George, the Sagamore Resort enchants guests with a rustic yet luxurious getaway by the water.
The Sagamore Resort encapsulates the beauty of the wooded area surrounding the placid waters of Lake George. This historic hotel features 12 bi-level suites and a handful of lakeside lodges where intimacy and romance is just part of the deal.
From its landscaped gardens to its private beaches, the Water’s Edge Resort and Spa is one of Connecticut’s most beautiful and celebrated hotels. For the last 30 years, this beachfront resort has enticed many couples and families to visit Westbrook and see what all the fuss is about.
The Water’s Edge Resort and Spa has many attractive features — I wouldn’t mind chilling out by the seaside pool for an afternoon — but what really wows guests is the warm hospitality that has been a tradition at this hotel since it was founded by the “host with the most” himself Bill Hahn.
Samoset Resort had me at the words “on the ocean.” Then I saw the tranquil Marine Spa, and I knew this Rockport gem had to go on the list of the most romantic hotels for couples around the world. Maine’s beloved coastal getaway provides an affordable yet luxurious place to unwind with someone special.
Located on the clear waters of Penobscot Bay, the Samoset Resort has 230 acres of oceanfront property to entertain and amaze guests of all ages.

The Castello di Casole has many fun seasonal activities, including winery tours and authentic Italian cooking classes, to keep you and your partner laughing, learning, and savoring each other’s company.
Montana can easily get overlooked by lovers looking to take a trip, but its untamed and beautiful landscape can foster some truly memorable outdoor dates. The Triple Creek Ranch tucked in Bitterroot Valley is our favorite travel destination in the western United States. This 700-acre main ranch property promises rustic elegance, gourmet cuisine, and off-ranch adventures in the great outdoors.
Triple Creek Ranch pampers its guests with world-class sanctuary cabins and then encourages them to explore the gorgeous scenery on nature hikes, wildlife safaris, fishing trips, and horseback rides.
Once again, the sunny shores of Florida are making an appearance on our list. This time, we’re traveling southward to highlight the tropical beauty of Key West. If you stay at Sunset Key Cottages, you can take your romantic getaways up a notch. The lovely, Victorian-style cottages allow you to feel like a local as you sit on the veranda and watch the world drift by.
Couples can get a taste of island life by hanging at the pool bar or by ordering a Rise and Dine breakfast basket, which is delivered to your doorstep in the morning. Lake Placid Lodge is the only hotel located on Lake Placid in New York. This intimate retreat features 50 stone fireplaces and rooms filled with antiques, art, and rustic charm. What makes the hotel stand out from the crowd is its farm-to-table dining experience. Chef Derek Leinonen continually updates a seasonal menu that highlights the unique flavors of the Adirondacks.
Lake Placid’s sports infrastructure traces its history back to the 1980 Winter Olympics, so it’s safe to say the outdoor activities here are among the best in the world. You can skate on the Olympic Skating Oval where Eric Heiden won five gold medals, or you can walk along the Ausable River to the Hall Falls Gorge, a 700-foot waterfall.
The 63-room XV Beacon Hotel is an iconic date destination where marble staircases, mahogany paneling, vaulted ceilings, and caged-glass elevators set the mood. The hotel’s stately interior has many picture-perfect spots in the heart of the Boston’s Beacon Hill neighborhood.

Bourbon Street calls to many young couples looking to let loose for a weekend or an extended stay in New Orleans. The city’s jazzy, spicy, and partying atmosphere suits vacationers hoping to enjoy a little Southern hospitality. If you want to class up your visit to Louisiana, the legendary Ponchartrain Hotel is the place for you. This 14-story luxury hotel provides a romantic backdrop from its four restaurant and bar options to its high-class suites.
The Pontchartrain has been delighting the senses since it opened as a luxury apartment building in 1927. The hotel has kept its old-world charm even as ambitious renovations have added to its amenities and attractions. Today, the hotel’s rooftop bar and dining emporiums give guests an authentic taste of New Orleans food and drink.
Emerald Lake Lodge puts couples in the heart of the Canadian Rockies in Yoho National Park. This classic wilderness lodge reflects the history of the region with its century-old fireplaces and hand-hewn timbers. As far as romance goes, you can bring out some warm fuzzy feelings while relaxing in the dry sauna or the outdoor hot tub.
The Emerald Lake Lodge’s verandas, sitting rooms, and dining rooms give guests a front seat to the beautiful scenery that has made this part of the world a popular destination despite its cold climate.
Finally, we travel across the pond to a hotel in one of my favorite vacation spots: London, England. The Henrietta Hotel is a unique hideaway in this old city. Its 18 bedrooms have a quaint feel with a nod to Italian designers. Each room has a minibar stocked with delicious snacks and bespoke cocktails.
The large Grand Henrietta room is a favorite among couples, who appreciate having the intimate balcony, rainforest shower, and claw and foot bathtub all to themselves. You can even see the London Eye from this suite!
That’s it! Any of these world-class hotels would make a fantastic retreat for couples interested in going away together. Whether you enjoy fine dining in the city or roughing it in the country, you can upgrade your vacation with a little pampering and a lot of picturesque moments that are best shared alongside someone special. Safe travels!
