The Short Version: Vacasa empowers couples to find the perfect vacation rental for their next romantic getaway. The site connects homeowners who want to rent out their properties and travelers planning trips. Couples can use Vacasa to find dreamy destinations with fireplaces, picture windows, and beachside views, among many other amenities. And they can secure their ideal lodging whether it’s an urban getaway or a secluded retreat.

When Vacasa, a company that connects travelers to vacation rentals, surveyed travelers to identify their travel intentions in 2021, many people prioritized getaways.

More than half of respondents (57%) said the way they traveled had changed since the COVID-19 pandemic. High percentages of those surveyed also reported feeling cooped up during the pandemic and excited to travel after receiving their vaccinations.

“Regardless of summer travel plans, 64% of Americans have already gotten, or plan to get, the COVID-19 vaccine before they travel — up from 59% who said the same in our spring survey,” Vacasa reported.

Last summer was the first trip since the pandemic began for 61% of respondents, and 59% reported planning a summer vacation.

Most respondents planned trips to the beach, with urban settings and lakes following second and third.

Parents emphasized taking a trip with their significant other — without the children. In fact, 45% of parents surveyed reported planning a trip alone with their spouse, which contrasted with only 30% of childless couples reporting they had planned a trip.

Vacasa expects to see these trends continuing into 2022 and beyond. And many couples can peruse Vacasa’s extensive list of vacation rentals to book their ideal stay, no matter the destination.

Cozy Touches Your Rental Can Include

Vacasa connects homeowners or property management companies with travelers seeking short-term rentals. Users can search the website for homes, condos, or apartments that fit their needs.

Couples often choose vacation rentals instead of hotels because they want to feel the comforts of home. In contrast to a hotel, most vacation rentals have a kitchen and several rooms. That can be especially helpful if one partner is a night owl and the other is an early riser. Many Vacasa rentals include private outdoor spaces for couples who want to relax together.

Vacasa rentals allow couples to indulge their romantic sides, as well. They can opt for rentals with sensory experiences, including waterside views, jacuzzi tubs, high ceilings, or fireplaces.

One of the most unique fireplaces on Vacasa is located in the Splashing Treehouse, a cabin in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. The hearth resembles one of the trees outside the cabin, including the leaves.

Guests enjoy staying at the Splashing Treehouse for its interesting interior and proximity to natural activities.

A vacation rental in Princeville, Hawaii, also makes for an unforgettable getaway. The primary bedroom is situated directly in front of the ocean, and it opens directly to the living room, so couples don’t have to miss the view. They can also access the shoreline and book massages at the property.

“No one is contesting Hawaii’s reputation as one of the most romantic destinations in the country (or even on earth), so don’t fight the feeling and book a trip to Princeville on the island of Kauai,” the Vacasa blog suggested.

If a couple’s idea of romance is peace away from the hustle and bustle, they can book Zoe’s Log Cabin, a rustic cabin in the trees of Brightwood, Oregon.

“Slip off the grid in this charming log cabin, tucked back in the woods with the sound of the river rushing by. Its rustic interior with cozy furnishings and a wood-burning fireplace will warm up even the chilliest of nights,” said a Vacasa blog article.

Intimate Accommodations Around the Country

No matter where a couple lives, they can find idyllic Vacasa rentals within a few hours’ drive.

Couples can book a classic California cottage in Idyllwild on the West Coast. The porch overlooks the mountains, and indoors, they can curl up together on the leather sofa and velvet chairs to enjoy the fireplace.

Midwesterners always appreciate a vacation on Lake Michigan, and the modernly-remodeled Sundown Cottage elevates that experience.

“This charming lakefront cottage rental, just steps from Lake Michigan’s shore, surrounds its painted brick fireplace with nautical decor and vintage upholstery for both fashionable and functional lounging,” Vacasa noted.

A classic Southern getaway, New Orleans, isn’t complete without a stay at The Rose. The white-and-wood property is located in the Garden District, a stone’s throw from restaurants, music, and nightlife.

But adventurous couples don’t have to sacrifice their peace to stay here: the property also includes a tea garden, a waterfall, and steam rooms.

Travelers to the Southwest often seek adobe-style dwellings that don’t sacrifice modern amenities. They’ll find that in the Casa Feliz in Angel Fire, New Mexico.

“Casa Feliz is a beautifully redecorated New Mexico retreat with gorgeous views of the forest and Wheeler Peak, a wood-burning fireplace, and a media room for the entire family!” reads the Vacasa description.

Lake Champlain in Vermont is for lovers, and there’s no better place to stay than North Hero, a sleepy locale. Vacasa offers a rental right on the lake with its own dock.

“You can’t go wrong spending time with your significant other by the water’s edge. If you both need a break from the lake, retreat to the sunroom for some peace and quiet,” reads a post on the Vacasa website.

Use Vacasa to Find the Perfect Destination

When couples use Vacasa to search for destinations, they have several options. If they already know where they want to go, they can plug their favorite spot and the dates of their trip into the search bar.

Then, they can add filters, including rentals that allow pets or sleep larger parties. They can also limit their search by the number of rooms, bathrooms, price range, and property type, ranging from condos to estates.

Couples can also decide they want particular amenities in their vacation rental, including a hot tub, balcony, and pool table.

Some may also want their rentals in particular locations. Vacasa allows users to search for waterfront or lakefront properties and those with beach access or mountain views.

If couples aren’t sure where they want to go, they can use Vacasa to find their dream rental. For instance, the website lists trending destinations, including Lake Chelan, Washington. If couples want to stay near wine country and water, they can click that location and search through some of its most popular properties.

If a couple doesn’t want to drive too far, they can also search for their favorite vacation rentals in their home states or neighboring states. That can also help if they are traveling on a budget.

Vacasa inspires travelers to stay at comfortable places regardless of whether they have an idea of where they want to go.
