The Short Version: After you’ve said “yes” and the ring’s in place comes the hard part: Planning your dream wedding. Many couples spend hours calling venues, jotting down prices, and calculating the final estimate as the person on the other end tries to upsell them, but Wedding Spot has improved that venue-search scenario for countless engaged couples. Choose your location, and you’ll see all of the nearby venues. Then answer a few questions about what you want and need at your wedding to get an instant estimate that you can compare with pricing at other venues. The Wedding Spot staff is also available to help you book a site tour or answer any questions as you plan your special day. You can follow Wedding Spot on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
A wedding is near the top of most people’s list of important life events, and some people often dream about how the big day will unfold. You want it to be at a picture-perfect location with amenities that your guests will love. Oh, and you need it to fit within your budget.
Couples can spend hours calling reception hall after reception hall, scribbling down pricing information and dates before comparing them to other locations. Panic inevitably ensues when they realize just how many aunts and uncles they each have combined, and then all the numbers need to be recalculated.
Wedding Spot was launched to ease that stress by making it simple to search for, price, and compare the perfect venue for your wedding.
Wedding Spot was created to help couples easily find venue information and pricing.
“Our goal is to provide a customized experience in researching and booking your dream wedding venue while saving you time and stress,” said Yotam Soen, Wedding Spot General Manager.
You can search for venues that offer wedding packages at a specific location and within your price range. The site guides you through choices ranging from the ceremony and reception to the cake and bar service for a comprehensive — and realistic — price estimate, and you can easily go back and edit your estimate to reflect changes in your budget.
Couples use Wedding Spot to find the perfect venue without the worry — because at least one aspect of your wedding day should be stress-free.
Wedding Spot has grown from a venue listing site built for select cities to a resource covering most of the United States with the venues in its database. Founder Tina Hoang-To was inspired to develop the site by her own wedding experience. She said she found it quite difficult to get honest pricing answers from venues, so she created Wedding Spot as a resource to help others.
“It’s a story of how a young entrepreneur solved a new problem in an old industry and proved that wedding pricing transparency was much needed,” said Yotam.
As users navigate the site, they can choose from popular metropolitan areas or search for a specific city where they plan to say, “I do.” Users can also search properties by price or style — no matter whether your budget is $5,000 or $50,000.
Wedding Spot provides quick estimates, so couples can compare properties before making a decision.
Choose a traditional temple or church wedding or opt to exchange vows at your nuptials in a vineyard or at a museum. There are more than two dozen options to help you narrow down search results, so if you aren’t sure as to which style of wedding you want, you can browse all of the popular options.
After you pick a venue, you’ll be guided through a series of questions to receive a Spot Estimate. “It brings the pricing transparency element front and center as it allows couples to get an instant price estimate based on their budget and preferences,” Yotam said.
The process can be completed in under 10 minutes, and when you’re done, you’ll have an estimate based on the most recent prices for your date and venue.
After selecting a few venues and getting estimates Wedding Spot makes it easy to view them side by side. You can compare up to three venues and, if you’re having a hard time narrowing down your list, you can mark your favorites to refer back to them.
It’s easy to go back and change information, as well. If you notice that you forgot to check the box for a coffee and tea station or decide to change the reception to an outdoor venue, you can easily go back and adjust those categories on the Spot Estimate.
See venues from around the country and book a tour through Wedding-Spot.com.
After finding a promising property, next up is booking a tour to see the venue in real life. While the site has gorgeous photos for each listing, nothing compares to seeing it for yourself. Requesting an appointment is done through a simple form where you’ll list a few details about your wedding date, the time you’d like a tour, and any special requests.
Another helpful feature offered by Wedding Spot is the Guest List Manager. You can import email addresses, select the ones you plan to invite, and then they’ll get a request for their mailing address so that you can send them save-the-dates and invitations.
Once RSVPs begin to arrive, you can track them on the site and keep them organized. From there, you can plan seating charts with the people who have confirmed attendance.
Wedding Spot also has a concierge team to help you find and book a venue. Team members can compile a list of venues that meet your criteria, schedule tours and reach out to properties on your behalf. Their goal is to give you a unique experience while saving you time and stress as you plan one of the happiest days of your life.
Yotam Soen, General Manager at Wedding Spot, said the team is passionate about helping users find their dream setting.
Yotam describes the team as “your typical wedding-obsessed fans who are also true industry professionals and pride themselves in challenging the creative edge.” The team also works with each venue during the onboarding process of listing them on the website. They work closely with venue management, in-house or preferred caterers, and other vendors that have working relationships with the venue to get the most up-to-date minimum prices.
The Spot Blog has practical posts that give couples wedding planning advice as well as fun posts that feature couples who’ve used Wedding Spot.
Wedding Spot has helped more than 7 million couples, but that number continues to increase as the team works to make the website more intuitive. “We want to make it even easier for couples to price the venues that pique their interest,” said Yotam. “We are also going to introduce curated venue pages that will highlight our fabulous venues in different states.”
As the site grows, Wedding Spot will always be focused on its mission: Helping couples avoid stress as they look for the perfect wedding venue for their big day.
