Reader Question:

I’m looking for that special person to grown old together, as friends first is important. When writing my profile for a dating site, should I mentioned how long I was married?

It was a long time — 22 years and separated for two of them. I also have a daughter who is 21 with her first baby on the way.

-Donna (Alabama)

Dr. Wendy Walsh’s Answer:

Dear Donna,

Absolutely! And if you’re thrilled to have a grandbaby on the way, say that too.

Trust me, a woman who was married for 22 years will be much more attractive to men than a woman who had three short marriages and a bunch of baby daddies.

In any case, it’s important you be open and honest. It is better to highly attract five men than to create mild interest in 500 men. Narrow your search by making yourself a specific, real person.
