My long term boyfriend died this winter, right as we were breaking up. Super tragic, and a neighbor (from a few roads over) was very helpful during the time I was mourning. And even made a point to spend time with me this summer helping with things around the house and taking me swimming. Recently the relationship turned sexual. And we are both having fun. He is younger than me by five years. Up front we both said it was a casual thing. Lately he has been bringing me presents, little rocks (which i collect) blue popcorn, wood racks for my garage. Just thoughtful little things. We also had a conversation, via a text, last week about how he thought I deserved someone better than him, that he cant give me half of what I deserve….When I asked what he said a guy with money and a house. Both things I already have. He even came and met my adult kid this last weekend. Is it all in my head? Or does he have feelings for me?

From what I am reading I think he is definitely interested in you. But What you should really do is just straight up ask him. If you two are as close you say I think you can have an open conversation and ask what he wants

I’m sorry for your boyfriend.
I think is really interested in you but is insecure about making the first move! Tell him how you feel about it and then see how he reacts!

He definitely has feelings for you, but is probably hesitant to say them aloud. If you’d like to have a relationship with this guy and have feelings for him as well, you could try hinting that you like him too.

Thank you for all your feedback! I have never had to deal with a situation like this, usually I like a guy and they like me and its all up front and in the open. But with the whole death thing it has really made me wonder and second guess myself. I guess I better get my feelings straight and have an honest conversation.
He even bought us tickets for a movie in February……so I guess that is the sign I needed that he isn’t going anywhere any time soon.

First off, I’m so sorry about your boyfriend. I know you said you were breaking up, but it’s never easy to lose someone you were that close with.
As for this guy, it definitely sounds like he’s into you. Like some other people said, it also sounds like he’s a little insecure. It sounds like he doesn’t think he’s good enough for you for some reason. If you’re into him, you’ll likely need to reassure him and let him know that you’re interested. On the flip side, if you’re still looking for something casual, you may need to make sure he knows that’s still the case if he is developing feelings for you.
