Is it ok to ask out a coworker on a date? I don’t work with her directly but we see each other from time to time. We work in transportation. I’m a mechanic and she is a driver. There was a couple at my old job and when things went sour it got really awkward for everybody but they worked together closely tho.

If there is any way that it could impact your work enviroment I would honestly avoid it. If things go sour and doesnt work out you could be in a difficult work environment. Also – is there a company policy in place? Rules? I’d consider that as well. If you really feel that this is the girl for you, it may be worth the risk, whatever you do, step lightly.

Tons of people meet at the workplace, it’s really a great place to meet a significant other. Now if you are really thinking about making your move I would be very cautious. Things can get sour and seeing an ex everyday can be really awkward and a source of drama that could cause you to lose your employment. Also seeing your significant other everyday at work can become annoying. Make sure both of you are on the same page before moving forward, and of things were to work out I would consider looking for a different job.
