Who's controlling the Internet dating, is it the men or the women

As the men seem to have to send out hundreds of messages to get only a few responses back, it would suggest the woman are the controllers.
    You’re views please.

It is not so much a matter of which gender controls Internet dating as it is social decorum.
Whether online or offline usually the male is usually required to pursue females for dates.
The same holds true for making marriage proposals.

Even in 2019 with all the strides women have made towards equality (they still want to be pursued).
Very few women will ask a guy to dance in a nightclub. They fear rejection more than men.

Having said that websites such as this one provides (reviews) of various online dating sites.
Among the information provided is the ratio of men to women on each site.
Naturally if you’re on a site which has more men than women you’re going to have a lot of competition.

Another factor to consider is any {reasonably good looking woman} will have lots of options to choose from!
In fact some women withdraw from online dating sites due to the shear number of men hitting them up!
They feel overwhelmed. Lastly your own profile, photos, and approach affect your success rate.

I’m with the others, women control the flow of it for sure, it’s just a engrained thing at this point that men pursue the women. It’s biological and social default to be honest. Even with more aggressive women these days men tend to take more shots while women seem more calculated.

The online dating companies control it!
    1) The overwhelming number of profiles on any given site are either inactive or fake catfish profiles.
    2) Something that datingadvice will never tell you, since they are shills for the “dating” industry, is that intermingling daters who are looking for hook up sex with those seeking a monogamous LTR is a guaranteed disaster. It’s Gresham’s Law applied to dating: bad daters drive out good daters. That is the fools that send dick pix drive away every decent woman.
    3) As Duana Welch (Love Factually) has noted only high cost dating sites will attract people who are real and really want to meet. There has to be some level of serious investment on the part of the dating participants.
    4) Match group (stock ticker MTCH) owns Chemistry, How About We, Match, Meetic, Ok Cupid, Hinge, Our Time, People Media, Plenty Of Fish and Tinder. They own another 30 or so dating sites too. They are the main consortium of dating sites.
In the final analysis you only see what the dating company wants you to see. As in the case of OkCupid, the most desirable
women are sequestered from the vast majority of male daters.

    I’ll also add this:
“Many complaints about Match dot com suggest … database is full of old & inactive profiles, scammers, fake profiles, etc!
Perhaps Only way to sustain that huge revenue is / WAS creating fake profiles from inside to entice customers to subscribe. ???”

This topic has been beaten to the bone, and it’s easy. Obviously women. They post group shots of 5 women, and you have to play “Guess who?” They throw away men like garbage because they have 10 other men in line eagerly waiting. They don’t even have to be attractive anymore. There is no balance of power, the men are at the mercy of the women to grunt in their direction.
