Sure, heartbreaks hurt. But you don’t have to be completely over dramatic. You’re probably going to cry, maybe overindulge in chocolate and/or ice cream and call on your friends for martini nights, but of course you’re going to love again.

Just keep telling yourself that the pain is only temporary and don’t shut yourself off to finding love again. There’s that saying that it takes twice as long as the relationship lasted to get through heartache. I don’t believe that. You may never get over it or it could take a week.

The most important thing to do to get over heartbreak is to continue to live your life. Don’t take a sick day and don’t make excuses. Keep going to work, join a pottery class, ask your sister to help you book a fun family vacation — whatever it is, put one foot in front of the other.

That’s how you get over heartbreak and find love again — just keep on keepin’ on.
