This is an exclusive study conducted by DatingAdvice.com, which surveyed respondents over the course of three weeks to reflect an accurate representation of the U.S. population.

A previous DatingAdvice.com study found men are more likely to have a one-night stand than women, but follow-up research shows there’s another demographic that is also more likely to participate in this type of sexual activity.

In a new DatingAdvice.com survey of more than a thousand people, African-Americans were 20 percent more likely to have a one-nighter than Caucasians.

With more than one in two answering in the affirmative, Hispanics were also one of the most likely ethnicities to have a single night of passion. At one in four, Asian-Americans had the lowest response.

While 68 percent of gay respondents admitted to being part of a one-night stand, just 46 percent of their straight counterparts have done so.

likely to have a one-nighter than Caucasians.”

Income was another contributing factor, as the highest response came from those earning between $25,000 and $49,999 a year and the lowest response came from those earning less than $25,000 annually.

Regionally, one-night stands were most popular in the Northeast and the West, where respondents were about a tenth more likely to participate in a one-night stand than those in the South and Midwest.

The study surveyed 1,080 respondents over the course of three weeks, balancing responses by age, gender, income, race, sexuality and other factors in order to accurately represent the U.S. population. The study has a margin of error of +/- 2.8%.
