Reader Question:

I have a girlfriend in Harrisburg and one in San Diego. I live in San Diego. San Diego and I have been lying to the one in Harrisburg. She found out about the girl (San Diego) on Facebook and I lied about that. I need help telling her.

What should I do?

-Chris

Dr. Wendy Walsh’s Answer:

Chris, man up! Just call Harrisburg — not text or email — and tell her you care about her so much and you can’t continue to hurt her this way. Explain that you do have a new girlfriend and the right thing to do is to break up.

Then back up your words with actions. And don’t see her again. You can do this. This is the right thing to do.
