Reader Question:

I am 65 years old, not bad looking, energetic, great sense of humor. I have been married twice. Since my last separation in 2011, I have enrolled in every dating site there is and have not had one single date. My profile on the dating site is honest, sincere and truthful.

Why am I not getting a response? Where should I concentrate my attention to find a nice person?

-Azad (New York)

Dr. Wendy Walsh’s Answer:

Dear Azad,

Sometimes being honest, sincere and truthful is way too much information for a dating profile.

At the beginning, it is often better to keep it light, fun and humorous. Less information is sometimes better.

Make sure your photos are recent and show you in your natural habitat doing the things you enjoy.

I suggest you buy a book on how to write an online profile. There’s plenty of detailed advice out there.

Finally, I suggest you focus your energy on OurTime.com, the dating site for people over 50. In that age group, there are far more single women than men, so your odds of meeting a great woman are better.
