Reader Question:
I’ve been talking to this girl for a couple of months. She says she’s not ready to date right now, but when she’s ready, she wants to be with me.
We’ve been fighting a lot recently about nothing. I didn’t hear from her for a week, so I gave in and sent her a message. We hung out and everything was fine until I dropped her off. Then we started fighting again.
She won’t talk about stuff to anyone. She bottles it all up.
What should I do?

Take a person at their word. If they don’t want to be with you, don’t try to put a square peg in a round hole. If she wanted to be with you, she would. It’s not complicated.
Also, the fighting doesn’t bode well for why you guys would want to be together at all. Fighting before you ever date isn’t a very good indicator of a future healthy relationship.
