Ladies, when we meet a guy and we don’t click with him, we know early on there won’t be any future dates, let alone a relationship. It may take a few drab dinners or creepy coffees to realize you’re not interested in a man romantically, but when your intuition speaks up and says something isn’t right, listen to it!

Why waste precious time and energy avoiding the inevitable? If you know a guy isn’t the one for you, give yourself permission to be selfish and move on without entangling yourself in a dead-end situation. Sure, you don’t want to be a total jerk and stomp all over the guy’s dignity, but you don’t owe him some lengthy explanation either.

There are a number of ways to handle this situation. One way is to not return his phone calls. He may call a number of times, but if you stand firm, he will eventually get a clue. Of course, we hate it when men do that to us, so if you want to do the decent thing, you can be straightforward with him. Be tactful but direct. Tell him you think he’s a great guy but you think you would be better off as friends. You could even offer to set him up with one of your girlfriends. Who knows, you may end up with a great new guy friend to add to your arsenal!
