Dana said she’s proud to be part of a movement to create healthy relationships built strong in the outdoors. This cause is close to her heart as she has seen the damage of toxic relationships throughout her life. Dana’s mother was a victim of domestic abuse for 10 years. Sadly, Dana ended her marriage after enduring a painful and toxic relationship.

Today, Dana said she hopes to turn all that bad into good by opening a domestic abuse safe house in every state in the U.S. “It’s a big goal but I am committed to seeing it through,” she said.

Dana is also writing a two-book series about her experiences with domestic violence and the lessons she learned from living in a unhealthy environment. The sale proceeds from these books will help fund her nonprofit efforts to build the safe houses.

“The goal of the books is to inspire, motivate, and encourage people by showing them that it is possible to push through your past with faith, forgiveness, and a positive mindset,” Dana said. “I would like to eventually create courses to offer tools, tips, and suggestions for people who feel trapped and have no other viable solutions than to stay.”

Dana said she approached the online dating space with the same enthusiasm and integrity that she tackles everything in life. She may set lofty goals for herself, but she always has a plan to get there, and she doesn’t hesitate to go after her dreams. Her motto is set a goal, make a plan, take action.

“My favorite testimony is the power of a positive mindset,” Dana said. “When I started this journey I knew I had a calling to follow, and I knew I had to move a mountain before I could even consider getting started on it.” Filing for divorce was not easy, but it was necessary in order to move forward with this journey. She knew she couldn’t promote healthy relationships when she wasn’t living in one.

After enduring a three-year divorce process, Dana told us she has a newfound appreciation for love, happiness, and marriage, and she now works hard to reinforce strong relationship-building skills for singles throughout the online dating scene.
