The 411: What started as a blogging site for couples, LoveByte has now become a leading app for romantic partners to improve their communication and, in turn, strengthen their relationship.
Founded in 2011, LoveByte.us is the brainchild of Steve Sng, who often experienced his own frustrations while being in a relationship.
From misunderstandings to missed calls, Sng knew he couldn’t be the only one going through this. He knew his relationship and the relationships of others could benefit from a service that makes connecting easier.
Thus, LoveByte was born.
“Understanding that every relationship has its ups and downs, Steve wanted to improve communication and foster understanding between them,” said Amelia Chen, Chief Happiness Office of LoveByte. “Needless to say, it helped to reduce the cold wars and strengthened their relationship.”
And with more than 800,000 users, it’s easy to see that LoveByte works.
While other apps lump your SO and your friends all into one space, LoveByte expertly creates an intimate place just for you and your partner so you two can focus on building a true bond.
“It’s like a love journal that documents your love journey in the form of photos, notes and dates,” Chen said. “Precious moments are frozen in time where couples can revisit to relive those memories again.”
Not only can couples share photos, notes and important dates, but LoveByte also provides them with other cool features, including the ability to:
“LoveByte helps couples focus on the important things in their relationships and make the best of their times together,” Chen said.
As a small Singapore-based startup with a team of four (two developers, a designer and a marketer), what LoveByte has already accomplished is truly impressive, but that doesn’t mean they’re slowing down any time soon.
The latest feature they’re most proud of is Secret Message, which allows couples to rub the screen like a scratchcard to reveal notes, ideas and photos in a private and fun way.
According to Chen, the team is constantly working on new features like this in order to improve the user experience, with the hope being that LoveByte becomes the go-to app for couples everywhere.
“LoveByte is focused on encouraging busy people to make time for the things and people that really matter in life,” she said. “With smartphones’ ubiquity in our lives today, we’re keen to dispel the notion that ‘technology ruins relationships’ and can even build stronger and more lasting relationships.”
LoveByte is available for free on iOS and Android. For more information, visit lovebyte.us.
