Reader Question:

How can I ask a gay guy to go out on a date with me?

-David (Missouri)

Brian Rzepczynski’s Answer:

Hi David!

Cheers to you on your initiative! Gay men love a man with confidence and assertiveness who goes after what he wants.

The key to asking someone out is to be your authentic self and be direct about your intentions.

Be sure to maintain steady eye contact, position your body in an open stance and deliver a creative and flirtatious opening line that validates him in some way and makes him feel good about himself.

As long as it’s genuine and not cheesy, this can help to develop a favorable impression of you.

There’s nothing wrong with a simple, “Hi, I’m David. Would you like to go grab some coffee? I’d like to get to know you a little better.”

Good luck!

Dr. Brian
