You’ve probably seen the happy success couples on TV who met through an online dating site like Match or even Tinder and may realize the stigma has been gone for a while.

A study on internet dating shows more than one-third of the couples in the U.S. who have tied the knot credit digital love and online dating for bringing them together.

The journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences showed almost 35% of married couples are now meeting online, with 45% of those meeting through online dating sites and apps.

eharmony, known for attracting serious relationships and marriage-minded singles, conducted the study through Harris Interactive.

More than 19,000 people who wed between 2005 and 2012 participated in the study, which takes into account social networks and mobile dating.

Couples are now finding love on Facebook, Twitter, traditional online dating sites, swiping apps, and other social networking sites.

With the abundance of mobile dating apps, singles aren’t waiting to go home to check their inbox.

“Couples are finding love on Facebook,

Twitter, dating sites and social networks.”

How do singles feel about GPS dating?

The internet dating industry gathered in Beverly Hills through June 5 and June 7 to discuss the growing trend of mobile dating at the Mobile Dating Conference.

Real single daters joined the industry conference at a focus group, which I hosted and moderated to learn the views of the people.

We reviewed many of the popular dating platforms including Badoo, eharmony, How About We, Let’s Date, Match, OkCupid and Tinder. The daters participated in a six-week mobile dating boot camp sharing their experiences at the conference. What a great time learning about the latest trends and the opportunities ahead!
