Having a child is a huge responsibility, one that requires an incredible amount of work, time and energy — not to mention money and patience! Choosing who you want to have a child with is serious business, and you should be very selective in your process to find the right woman for the job.
While there are no hard and fast rules to follow when deciding if someone would make a good mother for your child, there are a few things to keep in mind that will help you along the way.
Pay attention to how she treats the children in her life. If she is kind, patient and compassionate, she is already demonstrating the nurturing qualities of a loving mother. If she drinks alcohol to excess, does illegal drugs, has violent tendencies or acts out in other ways that demonstrate an absence of responsibility, she’s probably never going to win a Mother of the Year award.
Any woman looking to be selected for the position of mom should have the following skills on her resume — honest, hardworking, dependable, goal oriented, self-starter and excellent customer skills.
If you have any doubts whatsoever that she isn’t mother material, listen to your gut instinct. If she has yet to prove to you that she can be trusted with your life, you cannot trust her with the life of your unborn child.
