The Short Version: Winter is the best time for couples to get cozy with one another and spend some quality time together. Whether it’s snuggling next to a warm fireplace or hitting the slopes, couples have an array of fun things to do to take their relationship to the next level. The Telluride Ski Resort is a go-to spot known for romance and world-class service where guests can create memorable experiences. Telluride is located in Colorado and has been serving great experiences since 1972.

Just as in any relationship, couples need to make sure they’re doing the proper things to nurture their union. All it takes is a bit of planning whether that’s taking date night to the next level or escaping for a weekend baecation. Some people find it hard to figure out what to do when the snow falls other than binge their favorite TV show together.

Telluride has been a number one ski spot for couples to explore for years.

Luckily, there are a handful of snow activities that couples can do together that have the potential to set their hearts on fire — even if it’s cold outside! Skiing is a major snow activity that many couples find worth exploring. Thanks to Telluride Ski Resort, couples can explore the beauty of the slopes and all that they offer while creating precious memories along the way.

Located in Colorado, Telluride Ski Resort offers a unique and beautiful experience for guests. According to On the Snow, in 2022 Telluride Ski Resort was ranked as the best all-mountain terrain. Meaning you can do a lot more by visiting Telluride than just capturing nice pictures for the gram. From late-November to early April, guests are welcome to select from an array of ski passes and tickets.

Couples can choose from skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowbiking, or even participating in an advanced specialty camp together. Telluride Ski Resort is the place to go to sharpen your skills, and have some fun all while bringing the spark back between two lovers.

“Overall this is my favorite mountain to visit! What more can you ask for in a getaway? You have an amazing mountain, with breathtaking scenic views. The lifts are never super crowded and the trails vary so much that there is something for all levels of skiers,” said Adrian in a review.

Having Fun in the Snow Together

Most people think skiing is only for the pros. But Telluride can easily prove that to be wrong. Ashley Sawchuk, Telluride Ski Resort’s Marketing Manager, shared that people from all over are encouraged to visit regardless of their level of skill. She insisted that Telluride is an excellent skiing destination for beginners.

More than half of Telluride’s runs are for beginners or intermediate skiers. Even if it is your first time skiing you can still see some incredible views from the mountaintop. Beginners get the chance to go to the top of the mountain at 12,000 feet and ski down to the base of Mountain Village.

“Overall, more than half of our runs are beginner or intermediate. Beginners can even enjoy views from the top of the mountain at 12,000’ and ski a double green, Galloping Goose, all the way down to the base in Mountain Village,” said Ashley.

Couples can have fun in the snow together like never before.

“This was my first time skiing and I had a great experience. The lessons were super helpful, there were many slopes to ski in and the village had a lot of fun restaurants and other activities. We stayed at the Mountain Lodge which was very comfortable and close to the Gondola. I will visit again,” said a Telluride guest in a review.

Playing in the snow isn’t just for the kiddos! No matter what the occasion, Telluride is an iconic destination where romance is bound to blossom. Telluride is known for being a hot spot for weddings, honeymoons, and intimate celebrations, including anniversaries.

Telluride’s guest services department is also known for helping visitors plan the perfect mountain-top proposals. Ashley mentioned one of the best proposals at the resort was by a man who proposed to his girlfriend at the top of lift 12. He hired a photographer to be nearby and had a sign waiting for her with the big question printed on it. The night ended with tears and a yes on the mountaintop.

From Luxurious Lodging to High-End Dining

Fine dining is another major reason why people choose selective places to visit. Food has a special place in many couples’ hearts, whether it’s a favorite meal they cook together or a special meal they share. Telluride understands the importance of food and offers nothing less than high-end dining for its guests.

Couples can check out local dining in the town of Telluride or Mountain Village. Ashley told us that she often recommends couples try out Alpino Vino for a romantic dinner. Guests get the opportunity to drive up to the mountain in a snowcat while enjoying the beautiful sunset views.

“Guests are served a 4-course, pre-fixed meal with carefully crafted wine pairings,” said Ashley. “The food and service that Alpino Vino provides are exceptional and, as the highest-elevation restaurant in North America, the views are without a doubt unmatched. You won’t experience anything like it elsewhere!”

At the resort, guests are also accommodated with exceptional lodging. Telluride has different lodging options for couples to choose from. By prioritizing guests’ needs and having great customer service, couples can look forward to having a home away from home. They’ll get the benefits of feeling comfortable while focusing on spending quality time with one another.

Telluride Ski Resort Creates Memories That Last a Lifetime

Making new memories should always be a priority in any relationship. It’s what keeps the bond tight and the love flowing. Telluride Ski Resort is all about helping people make memories that will last a lifetime. For starters, couples can check out The Peaks Resort and Spa which is known as the largest spa in Colorado.

The resort includes full spa access, an entree in the workout facilities, a pool, a hot tub, private lounge areas, and saunas. To turn things up a notch, couples can also book a private yoga, pilates, or meditation session. Couples usually find these sessions to be refreshing and a life-changing moment for the two of them.

Depending on the time of the year, couples should be mindful of the kind of expected crowd the resort will have. For some couples, a large crowd is inviting while others may prefer a less crowded vacation site. Telluride Ski Resort’s peak season is from Thanksgiving to Easter and from late-May to mid-October.

Telluride is a fun place to laugh, learn and create new memories!

Those who prefer a smaller crowd will find traveling to Telluride in the middle of October to November the perfect time. Ashley told us that the fall off-season is considered to be the ideal time for a quiet and peaceful getaway. Meanwhile, anytime between January to March is the best time of the year to go skiing.

“Telluride Ski resort is a wonderful place to build memories. Anyone who has had the privilege of visiting our special mountain town will agree, it’s truly one-of-a-kind and will draw you back time and time again,” said Ashley.
