Rule number one, don’t look like a hobo in your online dating profile. Ladies like men who take showers on a daily basis. That said, choose a photo that gives good insight into your personality — on a fishing trip, at the museum, reading a book at your favorite local coffee shop, picking out fresh produce at the farmers market — the list goes on and on.
Secondly, be honest and succinct when answering profile fields, and don’t be an egotistical pig. The only women who like to hang around total misogynists are masochists. And that’s not a good thing. Your profile is the first thing a women sees when she’s traversing the murky waters of online dating. Don’t put on an air — be yourself and make sure it’s spelled out that you are looking and open for a long-term relationship and not just a bunch of one-night stands.
