Sorry, guys, I’m old-fashioned and I still say the guy should pay on the first date. Even if she asks you out and promises to pay, when the check comes, surprise her and insist on taking care of the bill.
This is not to say you should have to pay for every date. I do not believe a man should have to break the bank to get to know a woman of interest. She should pay on occasion, too. But, you will win some serious points with a woman you’re wooing when you pick up the tab. Whether you go out to a fancy restaurant or McDonald’s for that first meal, a woman really feels important and valuable when a man offers to pay.
