The Short Version: Since she was a young girl, Devyn Simone has had a keen interest in what makes relationships tick — absorbing all the information on human interaction and bonding she could get her hands on. Today, as a successful professional dating expert, Devyn has zeroed in on the secret sauce for finding a soul mate, and she’s committed to sharing it with her clients. Devyn delivers pointed, personal consultations that give men and women the tools they need to overhaul their approach to dating and meeting new people. In addition, through her popular TLC show “Love at First Swipe” and the numerous articles she’s authored, Devyn has brought her knowledge of love and relationships to audiences worldwide.Devyn Simone

always knew she was destined to help people. From a young age, she was consumed by questions on how couples form bonds and what makes for healthy relationships.

After spending her adolescent years collecting research, both from books and personal experience, Devyn established herself as an authority, even in her teens, as someone who could give great relationship advice. She was the host of a top teen talk show and was crowned Miss American Teen before she was 17.

During college, Devyn was asked to join MTV’s “The Real World: Brooklyn,” which catapulted her into the mainstream television industry. Though she appeared on two more MTV shows, she was still driven by her first passion: relationships.

This led to her TLC show, “Love at First Swipe,” which she co-created and co-hosted with style expert Clinton Kelly. The two friends met for dinner one night and, for kicks, started looking through Tinder. Devyn laughed as she remembered the moment.

“I was swiping through and showing him, and Clinton was appalled by what people were wearing in their photos, and I was appalled by what they were saying in their bios,” she said. “And then we thought ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we could help them?’”

“Love at First Swipe” ran on TLC for two successful seasons. The show is now broadcasted on international networks, and viewers still message Devyn and Clinton about how the duo inspired them.

After that adventure, Devyn decided to focus on a more personalized brand of matchmaking. Today, as a Three Day Rule matchmaker, she delivers hands-on consultations to clients who come to her looking for guidance on how to best approach dating and finding a match.

A Curiosity About What Makes Love Tick Shaped a Successful Brand

Devyn’s story is one of turning a long-held interest into a thriving career. Fueled by a lifelong curiosity about what makes a healthy relationship, she’s been diligently reading self-help, relationship, and psychology books. She believes this fixation on finding happily ever after may have come from her parent’s divorce when she was a child.

Devyn told us this passion had her asking questions about relationships and the factors that lead to successful outcomes at a very young age.

“As a kid, that always stuck with me,” she said. “I was always asking adults the questions and then watched and observed them in their relationships. I probably spent half of my time in the guidance counselor’s office talking about relationships.”

That diligence has served her well, as today she is a sought-after dating expert and matchmaker who regularly appears on popular news and television shows, including “Rachael Ray” and “Good Morning America.” She has also contributed her expertise to several publications such as The Huffington Post, The New York Post, and PopSugar.

Devyn helps singles renew their dating lives using hard data, personal experience, and academic research. Her goal is to change their online dating experience and general attitudes about dating. She’s a coach, profile transformation specialist, and matchmaker.

Expertise to Help Men Find and Attract Quality Partners

While Devyn’s services are not specifically gender-based, she does find that men and women often encounter different challenges when navigating the online and traditional dating space.

“There’s so much swipe fatigue because there is so much noise online,” she said. “Everyone is online, but no one is really committed to it anymore. People are making connections, and they are falling apart before they really grow legs.”

For many of her male clients, she focuses on two things: identifying what they want and how to create and communicate their personal brand to attract the partner they desire. Many clients need a little one-on-one coaching to get the process rolling. Devyn has clear goals in mind for her clients.

“We create a must-have list which is the most essential thing for dating,” she said. “It’s easy to get distracted by the shiny such as beauty or success.”

She also spends time excavating their past relationships to find unhealthy patterns and behaviors so she can help them forge new paths.

Devyn told us she coaches men on how to send a message that “sizzles, not fizzles.” It’s more than just having a strong selfie. With Devyn, clients learn how to establish and communicate their personal brand to potential mates. She schools them on how to create a profile that stands out and attracts their must-have mate — not just one who looks good for the moment.

Working With Women to Navigate the Modern Dating World

When working with clients, Devyn describes herself as “part friend, part therapist, and part cheerleader.” The aim of her coaching sessions is to meet clients wherever they may be on their journeys to love.

“I start where my client is,” she said. “Some haven’t dated in years and are just starting out. Others are dating quite a lot but keep ending up on dates where they’re like ‘I’m not really interested.’”

Devyn tells her clients they are responsible for their own success. By helping them understand the mistakes they’ve been making and take matters into their own hands to change their approach, her lessons stick.

Many of the women who come to Devyn aren’t having trouble getting dates. However, they’re usually not connecting with quality matches. Instead, it’s a lot of inappropriate messages and photo trading.

Devyn works with women who want more than show-and-tell to create a must-have list. Then she helps them create a profile that supports that vision for a partner. Rather than just getting attention, your profile should reflect your true values, and Devyn gets you there.

She also helps men and women as a personal matchmaker, going on bad dates, so you don’t have to. She works with clients who are sick of the online scene or want to supplement their findings with real people she handpicks for her clients based on their must-have lists.

She coaches clients during their search for relationships, and once they find their match, should they need it. Devyn’s primary goal remains the same since she was a little kid with her nose in a psychology book — she wants you to have a healthy relationship.

Devyn’s Advice and Resources Get Singles Relationship-Ready

If you can’t get enough of Devyn, don’t worry — there’s plenty to go around. Her blog is, in two words, fun and informative. With sentiments via meme, such as “If she doesn’t scare the hell out of you a little bit, she isn’t the one,” you can get a feel for her tongue-in-cheek personality. Her truth-telling posts present a no-nonsense view of dating and relationships written with a sense of humor.

She also gives excellent advice on everything from turning a flirtation into something more to fun date ideas. No doubt you will leave her blog with a little bit of knowledge, a little something to work on, and a big smile. Visitors to her site can also access past TV appearances, articles, and videos.

As for the future, Devyn is looking forward to helping more singles find happiness in themselves and with a partner. She’s also anxiously anticipating penning a book about dating and relationships that just might inspire the next Devyn Simone to take a similar journey toward helping people find love.
