The Short Version: MyTranssexualDate.com is an international dating site designed exclusively for transsexual and transgender women and the men who are interested in getting to know them. Through exhaustive moderation by a team made up almost solely of trans women, members enjoy a quality service free from social stigma. Created by a trans/cis couple who knew of the challenges that members of the trans community often face when looking for love, My Transsexual Date is the first dating site of its kind created to avoid sexualized portrayals of transsexual women. Thanks to the site, trans women have a platform to connect with good-natured men who appreciate them, which has resulted in numerous long-lasting relationships.

Maki Gingoyon and Cyril Mazur met in 2011. Maki is a transgender woman, and Cyril is a cisgender man (someone whose self-identity conforms to the gender corresponding to their biological sex). They’re also a couple who knows, firsthand, the challenges and discrimination members of the transgender and transsexual community can face when seeking legitimate partnerships online.

Cyril said that when he and Maki met, there were no real dating services for trans women. What did exist at the time, according to him, were sites for hookups and BDSM that fed into the overt sexualization of trans women.

They knew the trans community needed a better alternative, so they launched MyLadyboyDate.com in 2013, focusing on Asia at first (hence the name “ladyboy,” which is a common term on the continent).

In 2014, MyLadyboyDate.com transitioned into MyTranssexualDate.com, giving transgender and transsexual women from all over the world a platform to connect with interested men in a safe environment.

Created for Transsexuals, By Transsexuals: A Mission to Encourage Honesty & Respect

For many years, members of the trans community did not have a quality online dating platform. Cyril said many of the sites that advertised meeting trans women were primarily pornographic and/or escort-related.

The proliferation of these services likely limited the dating pool as members of the trans community may have been seeking more fulfilling relationships and not just looking to hook up. Those who chose to use them may have put themselves at risk by meeting people who expected sexual encounters.

Almost exclusively employing trans women, with the exception of Cyril, the My Transsexual Date team understands the community well and works continuously to improve the site’s safety and reduce the stigma associated with trans dating websites.

“What’s great about it is that everyone on our team is on the same page and deeply understands the needs of our members,” Cyril said.

Through moderation, the team works to make sure the site remains true to its mission: “to provide a quality and decent dating service for transgender women and the men who know how to appreciate them.”

And the goal is to be as global as possible. My Transsexual Date is available in nine languages, is open to all nationalities, and members range from ages 18 to 70+.

“All ethnicities and social backgrounds are, more or less, evenly represented, with the top five locations represented being Thailand, the Philippines, USA, Europe, and Brazil,” Cyril said.

Over 90,000 Members Connect Via Comprehensive Features

One of the many things that 90,000 active members of My Transsexual Date find appealing is the ease of signup — it all begins with a simple photo upload.

“We don’t have any matching algorithm. It just doesn’t make sense now for such a small community (around 0.1% of the population),” Cyril said. “Instead we offer a fully featured search engine that lets you discover the other profiles and an instant messaging system so members can chat. Over 50,000 messages are exchanged on the site every day.”

Users may also opt into having profile recommendations sent to them daily by email. This feature and every other functionality is available on desktop, tablet, and mobile.

The My Transsexual Date team regularly hears success stories from people who have met on their site.

Cyril and Maki are very proud of the platform, and the members are continuously reporting back with success stories about connections made on the site.

“Our site’s strength comes from the overall high quality of service that we provide,” Cyril said. “Our moderators work around the clock to ensure profiles are using real photos, spot fake profiles and posers, track down scammers, review users’ reports, and resolve conflicts.”

The folks behind My Transsexual Date are always taking the appropriate precautions to make sure the site’s community guidelines are followed. This allows them to maintain ideal conditions for members to build lasting relationships, make quality contacts, and, ultimately, find love.

Going Global: My Transsexual Date Spreads Their Message of Love

Society has made strides in the acceptance of other lifestyles. In 2015, Caitlyn Jenner won the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPY Awards and Jeffrey Tambor won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal of a transgender person on Amazon’s “Transparent.”

In 2016, HBO released a documentary film called “The Trans List,” which has given transgender people, including Caitlyn, a chance to share their experiences.

Websites, such as My Transsexual Date, and popular culture appearances, such as HBO’s “The Trans List,” have helped to change the stigma around transgender people.

With My Transsexual Date, Cyril and Maki are contributing to this change. They know the challenges and discrimination a trans/cis couple can face on the web and in society, so they’re giving folks from this community a safer, more enjoyable place to connect.

Plans for the site’s future involve an app for iOS, Android, and Windows phone in order to improve upon an already mobile-optimized site. They’re also working on making it more accessible globally by expanding the available languages to serve international users.
