The Short Version: Today’s singles often find their online dating experiences underwhelming because they don’t get much feedback or advice during the process. That’s the problem Meetopolis strives to solve. Meetopolis isn’t a dating site; it’s a company that helps singles organize their dating lives. Meetopolis offers personalized dating site recommendations, so singles can find the platform that best fits their lifestyle. Meetopolis also provides advice about local places for dates, connects singles with effective dating coaches, and allows clients to learn from the dating experiences of others. The site is currently in beta testing and will be fully launched around Feb. 5, 2020.

Imagine that you’re going on a first date with someone you met online, and you want to make a strong first impression. The first order of business: deciding what to wear.

Meetopolis, an online dating social network, can help make that decision — and many others — a little easier. Meetopolis members can log into the site and post pictures of three different outfit possibilities and ask others for their opinion on which looks best.

Soon, friends, dating coaches, and other Meetopolis members begin voting on the outfit they like best. Based on the responses, members can make a more informed decision on what to wear.

Meetopolis is a platform where singles can organize their dating lives and get help from others.

That feature — called the ASKme game — is one of the most popular tools Meetopolis provides, and singles can pose many other questions to the online community — from where to take a date to what profile picture they should use. Then, Meetopolis members can vote on the choices provided.

Meetopolis isn’t a dating site. Instead, it’s a community geared toward helping singles find love. The platform replicates the types of friendly networks that once helped singles find suitable partners before the online dating boom.

“We are trying to bring a bit of community back into online dating. Our friends used to weigh in a lot more in our social lives,” said Lisa Butkiewicz, Spokesperson for Meetopolis. “They whispered in our ears about a potential date’s reputation — stellar or otherwise. And, over drinks, we might have shared what went right or wrong on a date.”

Meetopolis fosters that same type of environment online to help members maximize their dating lives and, eventually, find lasting love. One of the main pillars of that mission is allowing members to ask questions and get feedback from other members. The platform also offers advice about dating sites and connects members with professional dating coaches.

Connect with Dating Resources and Coaches in Your City

When singles look for potential partners online, sometimes it doesn’t go as well as they’d hoped, and they may find themselves feeling alone and discouraged. That’s why Meetopolis created a community that shares advice on how to be more successful in dating and relationships.

The first step was creating a welcoming, easy-to-use interface for singles 18 and older. The platform is straightforward, with bright colors and clear language listing the services offered. Lisa said the team understood it needed to make the platform look as happy as possible.

“Our look is fun and happy, so we can bring joy back into what many people feel is a dreaded — or scary — dating experience,” she told us.

Meetopolis members can connect with friends and customize the information they receive.

On the platform, singles seek advice and share their thoughts on various topics related to dating, relationships, and family. For instance, members can browse Meetopolis for ideas about the best way to propose to their partner. Or, they can read what others think about coming on too strong early in the relationship.

Members share their tips for creating stand-out dates in their areas. They can discuss awesome places to get hamburgers or see a live band. Members also share tips about fun social events where they can either mingle with other singles or go with a date.

If singles are struggling with dating issues, Meetopolis also allows them to connect with dating and relationship coaches who can help answer their questions. If members want to communicate with a coach, they have the option to chat with them directly using the Meetopolis in-app texting feature.
“It’s a great way for coaches to get some exposure and meet new clients,” Lisa said.

Get to Know Others by Interacting with Their Profiles

Singles often wonder why they’re unable to make an online love connection. Of course, many possible issues exist, but they may simply be looking for matches on the wrong dating site.

Meetopolis understands that it can be overwhelming for singles to find the best dating sites on their own. So, the platform provides them with more information about the members that specific sites attract.

“We curate profiles from a variety of dating sites before they join those sites,” Lisa said. “The best way to describe our profile-browsing feature is as the ‘Trivago’ of online dating.”

Seeing typical profiles and interests from a variety of dating sites can give Meetopolis members a sense of which sites might be right for them. After all, with so many options out there, singles could waste time creating profiles on sites that match them with incompatible partners.

Singles can seek advice from coaches about how to improve their dating profiles.

“Many people aren’t sure what dating site to join and are reticent to go through a lengthy sign-up process or pay fees when they’re not sure people on site will be their type,” Lisa said. “So, on Meetopolis, users can view profiles, save them, and then join the site that suits them.”

Singles on Meetopolis can also use its Recommendation Engine that suggests compatible dating sites based on their answers to a few questions. That way, members aren’t wading through a sea of dating site possibilities; they’ll already have a few options to explore

Meetopolis: An Online Happy Hour with Area Singles

Though it may be hard to remember a time before online dating, finding love was once much more about community. That may have meant meeting a friend of a friend for a blind date or heading out to a happy hour to find someone attractive.

That’s the atmosphere that Meetopolis aims to bring into the digital age.

“The more singles mix and socialize, the more likely it is that they’ll see or be seen by someone they may want to get to know better,” Lisa told us. “And then they can send a private message to the person. And who knows what may happen from there?”

Meetopolis is already well on its way to making the internet a friendlier, community-oriented place for finding love. Notably, the founding team includes Trish McDermott, who also developed the first dating site, Match.com, in 1995. That history makes Meetopolis particularly well-suited to cut through the online dating noise.

“Life is all about helping people. There is nothing more satisfying than providing a great forum,” Lisa said.

But the Meetopolis team has another demographic it eventually plans to support: married couples.

“We have so many ideas for the future in terms of helping people after they get married. So stay tuned. We have to first get out of the gate with everything we have built for singles,” Lisa said.
