The Short Version: If you’re having a difficult time figuring out what you want out of life and love, you’re not alone. It’s a common challenge faced by many singles, and The Dating Advice Girl, Erin Tillman, is helping them overcome it. Through her coaching sessions, online courses, and speaking engagements, Erin is an empowerment coach, giving people of all lifestyles the tools they need to navigate the dating space with ease — making the process fun just as it’s supposed to be.
A decade ago, Erin Tillman was a new transplant in Los Angeles. Originally from Ohio, Erin, like many other Midwesterners, had come to the City of Angels to spread her wings in the entertainment industry. Thanks to her quick wit and personable nature, she quickly found success.
“I began working red carpet events,” she said. “I was regularly doing TV-host-type things and talking to and interviewing celebrities.”
In her run-ins with the Hollywood elite, Erin discovered that the old cliché of celebrities being just like everyone else was actually true. Many of these actors and actresses were depicting lives filled with romance and intrigue on the silver screen. But, in reality, Erin discovered they, too, had to walk their dogs, make coffee in the morning, and navigate the LA dating scene.
“It seemed like even if an actor wasn’t playing a role that related to relationships, inevitably, there would be something relationship- or dating-oriented that would come up on the red carpet,” she said. “That’s how I just fell into doing what I do.”
Erin told us she had always been interested in human interactions, especially in terms of dating, and, from what she’d been hearing on the red carpet and from colleagues and friends, most singles in LA had the same complaints.
“So many people I run into feel that there are no good people to meet in LA and can’t stand the dating scene,” she said. “So I began blogging to remind people of the magic of this city. I wanted to get it through to them that this is an amazing town. Even on a Monday afternoon, there’s always something to do.”
Erin’s blog experienced a fast rise in popularity. She then began a podcast and started to hold public speaking events and engage in private dating and relationship coaching. This resulted in Erin’s status as The Dating Advice Girl, a title that has people turning to her in droves to learn what they want out of a relationship and how to make it a reality.
“People want a variety of things these days,” she said. “Some want to receive more matches on their dating profiles. I get a lot of people who come to me who are newly single and are looking to get back in the dating game. My coaching ends up being catered to whatever someone’s needs are. That way, each individual can craft their sessions with me based on what they’re looking for.”
Erin is dedicated to helping all singles from all lifestyles have happy and enjoyable dating lives. Since she began blogging 10 years ago, she’s authored “The Dating Guidebook” and written more than 100 dating-related articles. In addition, her podcast, The Dating Advice Girl Radio Show, is a popular source of entertainment, inspiration, and information for thousands of singles.
Her success in the dating space is due, in large part, to her insightful understanding of how people want and need different things in relationships.
“Relationships do not fit into a one-size-fits-all category,” she said. “Not everyone is searching for the same kind of partner.”
Erin told us she believes people need to first become clear on their relationship objectives before hitting the pavement and dating. This way, they can meet others with similar goals, which makes for a much more enjoyable dating experience.
“I’m here to provide support,” she said. “I want clients to feel empowered on their journeys to self-improvement and personal development.”
She’s also profoundly committed to inclusion and doesn’t promote one relationship type, such as monogamy, over another. For her, it’s about doing what’s authentic to you, and she accomplishes this with a combination of personalized coaching, speaking engagements, and multimedia resources.
Everyone has a different skill set to improve or enhance their dating experience, and Erin knows that. Which is why she’s created coaching packages that empower singles to work on their weaker skills in a supportive environment.

Erin said one of her main missions lately has become educating college students about dating and consent. She aims to give them practical tips to ensure a safe and confident experience.
“I want to promote smart, healthy living when it comes to an individual’s social life,” she said. “My goal is to empower college-age singles with dating and social skills and self-esteem.”
She passionately believes when students are more informed, prepared, and transparent about their boundaries and social objectives, relationships will be better. Informed students feel empowered to make safer choices more in line with their personal beliefs and lifestyles. And Erin said consent has been and will continue to be a primary focus of her coaching programs.
Erin offers several college-based courses and workshops, including Dating Safety on Campus and Standing Out With Strong Social Skills. All programs are designed to develop a foundation for young adults to craft the social life they want and deserve.
In addition to coaching and speaking engagements, Erin makes a plethora of high-quality dating advice available to singles everywhere. Visitors to her sites can gain valuable insight into the modern dating process through her award-winning podcast and publications.
Her blog, podcast, and YouTube channel are what got her started in this space, and she continues to pump out compelling content on both mediums. Erin plans on adding more exciting resources to her catalog as well, including webinars and another book.
“I’m working on my second book, which covers the areas of consent and boundaries. I’m also in the process of revising ‘The Dating Guidebook’ to make it even more inclusive,” she said. “Really, all of my work, whether it’s webinars, books, or coaching, is done to help people, and that’s what keeps me doing it. It feels great to make a difference in people’s lives.”
